In 1957 both Haiti and DR started the economic crisis that hurt them both. But the DR recovered in the 70's and Haiti never did with the legacy and brutal government of Papa Doc Duvalier and his ton ton macoutes, that scared the investors and tourist industry that was just blooming in Haiti. My mom have a friend she's his haitian but have White jamaicans roots in her father side ( I dont know why she's all white because her father was a light-skinned men). Her and his husband were forced to leave the country. They comeback years later and for the second time they were order to leave. It's sad because I dont think she's and her husband where never comeback home, they have all lost there, no family,no house,no cousin. Really sad. Why did they have to leave exactly? This cat sounds to be profeceient in French, which seems to have made his Kreyol sound Authentic, but is good to see Kreyol getting national play and interest. Not to mention a lot of other Afro-Francaphone nations are trying to bring back there Creole/Patois's. Which, I beileve Haiti should be in the forefront of. |

I have to say whoever made the videos about "white " Haitians is not using good examples of white Haitians, those were all examples of Mixed raced people that were profiled in the video. The funny thing is that blacks can always spot blacks no matter how white they look, but Whites can't do the same. I can do it because I have many whiteish looking ancestors, and my moms alwas wable to point them out to me at funerals. Whites are totally devoid of any other race, once you see a pure white man there is no mistaking it, complexion and hair are the least. Yo people on this forum are bugged out, they bring out preducies in Dominicans that I never even thought I possesed... |

Luckily I found that, the actual majority of Dominicans in DR are not so volatile devoid of any reason or compassion. More so respectful- at least that's been my experience.
