SAN CRISTÓBAL. Una banda de ladrones haitianos saqueó esta madrugada la oficina de la Fundación para el Niño Desvalido y varias oficinas de abogados que funcionan en el edificio Doña Marina de esta comunidad.

En la Fundación para el Niño Desvalido, que dirige el licenciado Héctor Díaz Encarnación, los ladrones rompieron varias gavetas, destruyeron documentos y se llevaron una indeterminada suma de dinero.

Mientras que de la oficina de los doctores María Estela Adames y Aquiles Adames robaron una computadora y otros objetos de valor.

También intentaron penetrar a la oficina del licenciado Paulino Zapata, procurador adjunto de la Corte de Apelación de aquí, y de la oficina central del edificio Doña Marina, propiedad del dirigente peledeísta Cuqui Espinal, no robaron por la intervención de los serenos.

Let those poor haitians loot and steal in peace...

We should give them all of our property then maybe the UN and others will stop saying that we are racist.

We have to endure living next to these people and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

I have plans of one day retire in DR... That is many years away, I just hope Santiago is not worst than it is now... Its full of illegals... kills the buzz sometimes... I can not even park anywhere in Santiago without a ton of illegal kids asking me for $$$ and if they could watch my SUV....I hope the next gov does something and grows a pair

Xwill I've experience the same thing when I'm in Santiago especially in the "el centro" around "la calle del sol" in "los tapones" they come asking for money I give them all my "menudos" but after a while it just gets annoying besides I rather give my money to poor Cibaeño kids. Anyways, if nothing is done these people are going to keep crossing the border until they become the majority.

But why do you (Dominicans particularly of more European stock) care if others say that you are racist? I mean let's keep it real. The Dominican Republic is the most progressive nation in Latin America hands down if you look at Latin America as a whole. What do you think would happen if a million dark-skinned Haitians showed up in Cuba?

Lets not let the actions of a few speak of an entire nation! There a plenty of bad haitians as well and plenty of bad dominicans. I do agree that we need tighter border controls and curve the illigal immigration into the Dominican side, but always keep an open mind when interacting with haitains. Many of them just want to come over and have a better life, just like our parents did when they immigrated to the states.
