Many of the women that look like the NEW Miss Haiti are low key. They are not in the spotlight or in beauty competition to be seen. ]Mireille Durocher Bertin her mom who was a powerful Haitian attorney very pretty too assasinated in Haiti during political chaos.
I think people are color shocked especially when seeing a really lightskin Haitian. Aside from that, new miss Haiti is pretty in her own way.

With that said. in the 1960's her is Miss Haiti
Evelyn Miot Miss Haiti, was the first black woman to reach the top five finalists position ... Miot was a semi-finalist in the Miss Universe 1962 pageant,

Look don't get upset at people because they are surprised to see a light skin Haitian. The fact of the matter is that a white or a mulato Haitian is not a very common thing. It is rather unusual. We know that it does exist particularly among the upper echelons of Haitian society, but it is practically non existent amongst the lower classes and peasant population, 95 % of the people.

I live in Miami and I have met plenty of whiter looking Haitians, all of them well do to, but I diid not meet them in little Haiti.
