And the impact has been so enormous that even today, Haitians that are lighter skinned feel alienated from the majority dark population. Can you explain that one? Because in an instant one would think that these minorities would choose to alienate themselves, particularly if they are not even in the same socioeconomic climate (besides the skin color or shade) I told him to leave, maybe he will answer you're question tommorow, good night. ![]() |

I have always known that white Haitians were and are still a minority. We know that they do exist but are few and far between. And although the video attempts to imply that white Haitians are no diffferent and just as Haitians as those who are of black African ancestry, the fact remains true, white Haitians are not well integrated into general Haitian culture, but rather are part of and belong to a very small select group of elites, who prefer to remain separate from mainstrean society and only marry within their race or with other European foreigners. Makes enough sense, right? At least for the status quo of their well-being and financial stake. Those non-black Haitians that remain in Haiti do so primarily for economic interests or as long as their business remain profitable, otherwise they would pack up their bags and leave the next chance they get, on the next plane out of POP exactly what most of the white Haitians have done within the last 30 years. They belong to an entreprenuerial class such as shop keepers, business and store owners, they have nothing and very little in common with the everyday folks you meet on the street or the millions of impoverished masses, the vast majority of the people in Haiti. Just look at their manerism, behavior, form of speech and how they carry themselves, totally different in more ways then one and not just only different in skin color. There are Black Haitians in the diaspora as well as some groups in Haiti, that are educated and carry themselves quite the same. That I must attest to from my own family. Nevertheless, I do appreciate the information, for me it just recomfirmed what I already knew. But for others it will be useful to those who are totally ignorant about the existence of white Haitians. I do want to make one point, white Haitians should not get upset if people are surprised to see them, particularly if it is for the first time. It is a normal reaction to be surprised. I have met many mulatoe Haitians, but very few white Haitians, I can count them with one hand. Hell, there are places in Europe where people to this day still have not seen a black face. Should we be upset? No it is not their fault they never saw one. I have a co-worker from Austria, who say a black African for the first time when she was 15 years old and the person was a novelty in her village. Hey don't be mad or blame people because they have never seen something before. Yeah, I knew of them as well but I never really thought one of their members would spotlight them in a 6-part documentary. Its my understanding that they have been faced with many derogatory and critical questions in response to their chosen lifestyle in the midst of the country's impoverished majority. Some would say it doesn't look good on their part. One point that you have made that sticks out to me is when you mentioned that the haitian minority is not well integrated in haitian culture. The sizable light skinned dominican population culturally in comparison to the haitian one makes dominicans more dominican and haitians less haitian. Conocer al cojo sentao! Well Guillermone i'm being realistic Haiti sucks, people in Haiti that are somehow successful runaway from the place, in due time. Those few people in the video piece and ofcourse others, that have remained, will eventually leave if theirs some violent political upheavel in the future. It seems that no one wants to commit themselves in the long run, in developing the economy of the country, and that's a fact. For over 200 years it's been mostly the same story, over and over. The video only reaffirmed what i have read about the place. ![]() |

Two dillusional observations I have made about you and Pipi! The two of you actually believe all blacks are animals while every women of you guys families are screwing black men. Second dillusional trait that the two of you carry very high on your shoulders is you punks actually believe that DR rules the world; DR will be able to assasinate and kill all those haitians living in DR at will. Remember during el general massacre we had jim crow laws here in the US, it is no longer the case. Let me inform the two of you fags, the United States rules the world and is the only superpower not DR! Get that into your thick heads! The current US president is black! Since you homos actually believe that all blacks are animals, are you implying that my Pres is not worthy of anything remotely civil? Why did your country elected black do not want to admit it LF? Kitty, just face reality, why is it so hard for you, The reason behind this defensiveness is that over the years white society has painted and perpetuated an unfavorable picture of blacks in general and although changing, to be black in still carries an attached stigma and Haitian whites who tend to consider themselves above the rest, prefer not to be associated. The average white Haitian pride themselves to be richer, smarter, have strong work ethics and many other virtues and want to shy away from the stereotypical image and identity which regardless of validity characterizes the impoverished black Haitian masses. I will say it again, all those things that you have just mentioned apply equally to successfull black haitians. I know your warp mind does not allow you to think pass the smelly snots coming out of your nose! Again, you are a sick bastard. In any society, work ethics and the will to succeed will always prevail. That is the number one factor here in the US, Haitians are more successfull than DRs because you DRs pride yourselves on playing dominos and haitians pride themselves on strong work ethics. I am witness to the fact, I live in a 80% DRs city and over 90% of those bonitas have zero socially redeeming values and no work ethics. Those bonitas daily preocupation is chasing lazy/worthless dominicans with fancy hair with pants on the ground. Unfortunately for them here in the US those DRs do not have the luxury of cheap haitians labors and with zero work ethics they have pushed themselves to the bottom of the primordial cesspool. Why don't you try to put thing into its proper perspective or is that something that is beyond your simple mind? You have to look at history. I am not refering to the process of drinking mamajuana but real history, not slanted or written by some bias authors. Try to understand advantages and disadvantages during slavery, those disadvantages cannot be corrected overnight. Your fixation with skin color does not allow you to judge with objection. Listen kitty, I will gladly enter into an intelligent discussion with you, but you must refrain from using derogotory language. I notice that people who tend to do that have little to no basis to support their arguments, and with no alternative left, resort to personal attacks and insults as a defense of last resort. I do not engage in that type of practice because in the end it just boils down to who can insult the best and loudest and that is just plain ghetto. Base on what you stated above it seems as though you surround yourself with people who come from a lower socio-educational stratus and these are the kind of individuals you are probably use to dealing with and I am not about to get down to that level. I do not have the time to make a comparative analysis about which two country is better or has more successful people. It is irrelevant and a moot point at this time. Nevertheless, that issue does not need to be proven or demonstrated, the evidence is clear. There are plenty of well to do Dominican business owners, musicians, performers, artists, politicians and high profile sport figures both in the US and back in the DR. There are thousands of Dominican doctors, lawyers, engineers and accountants all over the NY tri-state area and the northern seaboard. There are just as many teachers, firemens, policemen and tradespeople as there are humble, honest, hard laboring working class people, the vast majority of Dominicans. So please don't even go there. Now that does not mean that there is no such thing as good and successful Haitian people. I am very aware of many great Haitians and thousands who as individuals are quite worthy of merit, I do not and will never deny that. However, in general and as a group, Haitian society leaves much to be desired and over the years has performed pitifully bad to say the least. We do not need to prove that point. Certainly, the Haitian masses given the opportunity can achieve, but in Haiti the deck is stacked against them. My recommendation for you kitty is don't waste time, stop being defensive and definitely don't make excuses or look for others to blame, accept responsibility and recognize the weaknesses and frailties which has made Haiti the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Then and only then can and will you begin to find solutions to the very serious Haitian dilemma. Edited on 9/16/2010 3:44 PM by guillermone. |

Is this the only way you know how to communicate? Were you an abused child while you were growing up? Did your parents belittle and make you feel unworthy? If not, well it certainly seems that way. If you really wish to become the victor over your battles, I would suggest a different approach. A truely effective soldier is armed with the sword of peace and harmony. However, in your case it is totally the opposite, every time you open your mouth it is to express anger, create animosity and discord. It is as if you just want to provoke a fight. Instead of using this forum for negativity, let it work for you and not against you. However, unless you modify your conduct and significantly tone down quite a bit, you will achieve nothing. It just makes no sense for either you or me to continue with this discussion, unless you come with a different more approachable attitude, any effort would prove fruitless. Nevertheless, like I have already stated, when you refrain from using derogotory adjectives, spitting venomous words and speaking with a fork tongue then and only then will I engage in a civil discourse. Otherwise we will both be spinning our wheels, going nowhere fast. I have attempted to calm and smooth things down, but it has been to no avail. Do not continue to make demeaning and offensive remarks, it is useless and unproductive or just plain WRONG but you keep doing it anyway. My advise, If you do not agree with someone, attack the idea and not the person. ESTAMOS !! Edited on 9/17/2010 2:15 PM by guillermone. |

Did your parents belittle and make you feel unworthy? If not, well it certainly seems that way. The difference between you and I, you insult like a coward! You throw stop and hide like a little girl! Now you name drop and are attacking my parents! You lack cojones! You are not as intelligent as you think! You should be proud to have the most distinguish honor of exchanging words with me! My parents were aware of the fact that I was born with the conciousness that I can be whatever I so please! Whether I talk to you or not, I am battle tested, pragmatic and I have two huge Cannons steel between my legs. I fear no one! The day you stop attacking and run like a chicken, just maybe we can talk! This ex-green beret never ran from any fight! Well, I was certainly correct, you do want to provoke a fight. But you know what, if you plan to go back, save your energy for the battle field. That is if you were not assigned to the kitchen as a special force cook or in the supply shed. You will be very useful there. Nevertheless, I am surprise you did not end up as a war fatality, I congratulate you, lucky to have made it out alive. Anyway, if you did spend time in combat, please get therapy, you are still wound up and appear to have some sort of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder By the manner of your conduct, it is clear you are were a soldier. You simply act and attack and don't think. However, this is exactly what the army wants. You see my military strategy is different from yours. Since we are not in a life or death situation, had it been the other way around I would never divulge to my enemy my position or from which direction I am coming. But I will explain. You confuse my maneuvers with cowardice, however what needs to be understood is that conflict should be avoided, unless necessary, direct conflict is unproductive and dangers involved, but there are ways to win those confrontations when and if forced upon, but I know how to deal with it. I fight with my mind and not with physical or verbal agression. However, I pick and choose my battles. As far as your parents are involved, I only asked a questioned, just wondering how you were raised to figure out and determine what makes your mind tick. But it appears as though it was your army experience that took a toll on you which might explain in part your reactive and instigative attitude. Edited on 9/20/2010 11:51 AM by guillermone. |
