Well well, i´ve been to haiti and if the DR has ugly women, Haiti has REAL FUGLY women. The model you presented is one in every 1000K buddy. I´ve been to haiti and I have to say that of every 100 I might find 1 that may be marginal and that can pass as somewhat, maybe (if I drank enough brugal) acceptable. many have nice figuires but when it comes to the face. Por favor. They dont stand a chance.

Haitian women in no way can compete with Dominican Women as far as looks is concerned.

Haitian Woman yuck yuck ugly beast!!!!!

Here's a response on the matter- oh and just in case ya' didn't notice this is posted in the haitian section of the forum. "Respecting boundaries?" yeah, some of us can!

I am being as honest. when i walked the streets reasonable looking women were few. every now an tthen i found one or two that were ok but these were usually the ones that you could tell were pretty well off compared to the rest. and at some hot clubs you could find the cream of the crop but not in the cities streets. so even though dominican women in my book are not the best looking they are more beautiful women in dr than in haiti. this i could tell just from walking the cities and local towns.

In some aspect you make sense in that the Domincan woman is well-off that she can put some more focus on herself and she doesn't have to worry to much about means of survival. Now on the other hand a Haitian woman may put her focus on keeping some semblence of a meal and a place to live for her and her children and with that looks end up on the wayside. Quite frankly there is also the all-to-common western standard of beauty that on a scale Dominicanas are obviously closer to and favor more than Haitianas.

As for the previous pictures posted of that famous haitiana, that would be accomplished actress Garcelle Beauvais. She has made her way in Hollywood and married a European businessman and has three boys. There is a lot more to her than her looks at the pic. from a P.B. shoot.
(THE ABOVE COMMENTS WERE TAKEN FROM A PREVIOUS TOPIC DISCUSSION)

THE ADDITIONS ARE BELOW.

Well, aqui estan unas haitianas:

(yes she is too, the name's Meta Golding)

American Idol star Joanne Borgella- haitiana as well!

Here are some more of Garcelle:

even preggers!

Garcelle and her boys *too cute*!

... and that's not all "she wrote" b/c there are beautiful haitianas all over inside-and-out! The fact of the matter is we're people and we love ourselves just as much as anyone else. Beauty is not the main point of the matter but dignity and integrity and I and many others can argue that even in an arena that's not ours, but with court and respect. Thank you.

Oh, really?! Well he'll probably pop-up again. (aah God bless him!) But thanks for acknowledging, Manhattanite. As you hopefully have seen, I didn't post this for competitive reasons, but I wanted others to see that you cannot go and smear a group of people and expect for a member not to reply and stand up for whatever ounce of dignity he or she has, no matter who's house it takes place in. I just wanted to show that you can stand up but stand up with respect, don't try to start drama or cause a ruckus. When people learn to think this way, even on the internet, perhaps it won't end up so immature and sad.

Paz!

RE: Well...
Hello, Talia.
Please, can you tell us why there are no black Haitian women among your pictures?
Perhaps you did not notice it but all the good looking women you are showing are not black women and Haiti have basically a black population.
(And which one of those pictures is “your” picture?)

That depends on the definition of "black" that you're using. If you're using the dominican and latin american one, then yes, there's not a single "black" woman in those pictures (cuz' this definition only encompass the people that have a jet coal black skin). But if you're seeing them with an US anglo-american lens, then ALL of them are as black as one can get over there (yes, that includes even the light skinned Meta Golding), because of their cursed "one-drop" rule, which establish that a person is to be considered black even if he/she has only one african ancestor on his/her family tree, cuz a "single drop" of black blood can ruin the "purity" of the "white" race, regardless if the person in question have scandinavian looks or not. Check this article out:

http://backintyme.com/essays/?p=15

Why do you think both white and african americans routinely accuse dominican people of being "in denial"? it's because of the single fact that, for them, the DR is an entirely "black" nation, cuz' almost every single family in the country have, at the very least, one or two african ancestors on the family tree, no matter if these are one or two centuries removed. The term "mulatto" is non existent for them, at least in the sense of third separate race that we give to it over here.

I wonder if that Borgella girl is a descendant of Geronimo Borgella, the governor of Santo Domingo under Boyer....

It's very possible, cuz' I have read and heard that the haitian elites are one of the most exclusive and endogenous groups on the entire world, so it's not that easy to enter into their ranks as it would be to enter the ones of , say, the dominican elite (a.k.a "los blanquitos de por allá atrás" or in short "los de puallá" ), which are known for their "anything goes" policy.

RE: Well...
Lautaro, I am talking about the type of Haitian women that you can find everywhere in Haiti.
I have a friend who says that only the Charlie’s Angels are beautiful policewoman in United States (and even in the films they are not policewomen). If you expect to find in Haiti the type of women that you can see in those pictures you are going to have to look for them really hard.
In Haiti, Haitian women have hairs, noses, and lips that have very specific characteristics (and their bodies too –it is not strange to find wonderful bodies over there–). Their skins are the blackest skins I had ever seen in my whole life (you know, navy blue).
There are beautiful women with the characteristics of the common Haitian women and they must be showed too.

I know what you mean, I was just only anticipating myself to the predictable answer that the one-droppist squad on the forum would have given you. Of course, they'll deny with all their might all the facts that you have given above. Their will never be able to understand the fact that the island is inhabited by two ethnic groups that are as different as the night from day.
