Beside, Nicaragua is poorer than Haiti now, Why UN (I dont want a nicaragua invasion ) dont go there ? No, go to Haiti,Rape girl, go to Cité Soleil . Beside, when I see people of Sri lanka i'm wtf ? Sri lanka helping Haiti ????

i want Haiti to be what it use to be and stop pointing fingers whos is pooerer or who is up or down.

belly , you see, the problem is that when Ayiti wasnt the poorest country in the Hemisphere, the media never spoke about WHO was the poorest country in the hemishphere.
When Ayiti reached that point, it has to be amplified to the world that it is the poorest country in the Hemisphere.
its almost as if the media needed this to be something accomplished. (that is my point of view)
even though its no longer the poorest country in the Hemisphere, the media STILL calls it the poorest country in the Hemisphere.

When we are not, they say we are pointing our fingers about other country,,,

RE: Haiti: A victim of a 21st century genocide
-before 1804. there was the french colony of Saint Domingue.
the govenor general of the colony of saint domingue back then was a black man. His name was Toussaint L'ouverture.
Under the reign of L'ouverture, Saint Domingue was STILL producing lots of money for France.
You see, the French had a moment when they felt like abolishing slavery everywhere.
France had abolished it in Gouadeloupe and Martinique and all her other colonies.
Things were pretty good, and Toussaint was loyal to France. He actually believed that France was good because it abolished slavery and he dedicated himsefl to fight for it. He kicked the british out of Saint Domingue for France.
However, unfortunately, France had a new leader called napoleon who wanted to reestablished slavery, so french army came took him away so that he could die in cold prison in switzerland. Some french colonists betrayed Toussaint because they helped him become overthrowned.
that is why that when Dessalines won the independence war in 1804, he came up with the conclusion that no french ( not white )can be trusted. so that is why he ordered the slaughter of the french( not white ) people. and comparing that slaughter of french people to the treatment the slaves have endured for many years, i am so sorry to say that i dont see how people may call him a monster.
before he ordered that slaughter, many french people had already fled to new orleans, so he slaughtered the remaining ones that were dumb enough to stay.
there were many black people living in saint domingue before independence that went to school in france. so there were literate ppl in the new born Ayiti. (being white does not equal being litterate)

in case you didnt know, in the years of 1806 to 1816, the northern part of Ayiti alone produced 75% of what it use to WITHOUT slavery. Castles forts were built in the region. Schools and roads were also built.

in its early years, the southern part of Ayiti helped Gran Colombia ( thats the country that you wanted to join) achieve its independence as well.
in case you didnt know, the flag of Gran colombia was sowned in Jacmel, Ayiti.

to conclude
Ayitians do have a right to be proud. They do have a History, and if it wasnt for that illegal debt that the stupid boyer agreed to pay, maybe Ayiti wouldnt have been as bad as it is today.

Haiti was producing until you ancestors killed all the french or made them flee and that is a fact !

***I don't blame your ancestors for rising up against the French for their brutality was unmatched but when your ancestors went to the east and continued your blood thirst against people who had not harmed you and who did not deserve your attacks your people created the basis for the mistrust and in some the hatred which still poisons our relations.

Ever since you "got rid of" the French Haiti went down hill fast because you cannot take someone from a primeval society and have them run a nation ,worst of all Haiti even killed many mulattoes who were the few educated members of a society and even to the current date the difference between these elites and the general population is immense .

I know the fairy tales you are taught in history (the few that can read) and will not go into their fallacies because it is irrelevant to the challenges Haiti faces today.

Slavery was never abolished in Martinique. They voluntary gave England possesion of the island at condition that slavery was not abolished. When slavery was black in france, they became again French territory.

the solution in Haiti now comes down to policies from the bigger countries

From what i remember, Spanish Haiti had slaves. If there were no slaves, the invasion of Spanish Haiti could have never existed.
By the way, the man who invaded Spanish Haiti was a mulatto. Mulattoes have been in power for many years, and a lot of them did not do a damn thing for the other former slaves. The mulattoes never educated them anyways. And many of the mulattoes are still there in the country not caring about the others. There greed plays a big role in the reason why there are still Haitians crossing that border everyday.
So, even though i know you may like the mulattoes, they barely made a difference in the country one bit.

you said:

---
why dont you go ahead and look at lambi fund, veterimed, fondwa, zanmi lasante, ..etc
those are Haitian NGOs. many have members of the haitian diaspora.
Haitians abroad do know the gravity of what they are in.

you said:

you could always go ahead and look at canada's black book of diploamcy by yves engler or dead aid by dambisa moyo which will show you the true goal of most NGOs( by the way those authors are not Haitians), but i know you wont even try because you just like to blame Haiti for any problems that exist in your country.

a little info about NGOs

http://isiria.wordpress.com/2009/03/08/haiti-the-un-and-ngos-are-the-new-tools-of-neo-imperialism/

by the way, have you not ever tried to take a second and look at how the whole haitian evasion started? why they started crossing that border while risking their lives ( 'cause they get killed on a regular basis in the DR) of course not.

If I would listen to people like you, I think that I would hate all dominicans I encounter, thank god that there are atleast people like belly who remind me that Dominicans are not all like you.

Brasilian and even cuban are making vodoo. Santeria in Cuba is vodoo.

Ignorant and arrogant people love to belittle things like voodoo because it is African in origin. Voodoo is no less backwards than most organized religion especially if we are talking about Islam or Hindu. Even Christianity and Judaism contain many backwards elements and the people who say otherwise have not read the Bible nor the Torah cover to cover. In the Western Hemisphere, voodoo and voodoo-like religions exist where ever African slaves were brought.

Santeria in Cuba.
Voodoo in Haiti.
Obeah,Kumina in Jamaica.
Quimbanda,Candomble and Umbanda in Brasil.

There is a lot more smaller ones but I don't remember the names of them. I think it's kind of funny how African-ness is always equated as inferior, backwards but Amerindian-ness isn't. If the Taino people were alive to today en masse they would living exactly how they did before they were colonized which isn't too different from how African tribals live.

The reason why the major organized religions don't get the same bad rep as the West-African based religions is because the educated only accept the positive aspects and act as if the negative aspects do not exist or don't apply. In any case, Voodoo is not the problem with Haiti. Lack of education is the sole problem. You cannot live in a modern society without being educated. Likewise, the vast majority of "civilized" people don't know how to live off the land like their ancestors did. So, in Haiti you have a majority population who cannot live off the land because they destroyed most of their natural environment and they don't have the knowledge that their ancestors or the Tainos had to survive amongst nature. It's almost as if they are stuck between two different worlds and on top of that they have a corrupt government that would probably like to see the status quo remain for the foreseeable future.
