From Spain came this hit from Barrabas and it was never the same:



I brought my record collection to SD in 1974; and the DJ's at Clubs like Hunka Munka and Jet Set en la feria would always play this scorcher from my LPs. They loved this in DR, just like in NYC (Grand Ballroom, Ruby Foo's) and Boston (Zelda's and The Other Side).

Then, came Soul Makosa by Manu Dibangu, Osibisa with Che Che Kule, Exuma with Damn Fool, etc.

I loved that number back in 1976-77; I owned the LP. I'd play it at least once a week;
It burnt up the dancefloors and the radio airwaves, it was a numero uno on the charts for months .

There was also a San Francisco Hustle by The Silver Convention;



This was the Bomb in '77:
