I think they played Iggy Pop and the Sex Pistols or Ramones......You know "punk" rock.

I preffered SOB's or Sweetwaters for a change of pace.....

But, what do I know I am just a old-school London Character Playboys and tailor-made sharkskin pants wearing fellow with Italian Knits and and Kangol Hat from way back when....
When dressing and music mattered, Instead of just plain noise and garbage, and white-punks on dope (Stuff), OD-ing in the men's room; Stumbling and ramming their heads against the walls and other punks.

Really ragged. I mean nobody ever heard of the Ramones or Blondie or the Police.

They never had big name acts like Vikki Sue Robinson or Hue's Corporation!

YES, AnthonyC, we have heard about the Ramones and Blondie. name me one classic by Debbie Harry. she had some nice catchy tunes, such as Rapture, but not really anything that will go down in the history of musical lore. the Jersey boys, the Ramones, are just another group that did nothing really special, in my way of thinking. the Police was a good band, something i grant you. but, Government Mule is a better CBGB mainstay that Ramones will ever be.

Hmmm Rapture. the first Rap song ever to chart on the Billboard hot 100.

Ramones the creators of the greatest genre of Rock & roll since there was Rock & Roll. Punk which is still a popular form of music today. While disco pretty much petered out by the early 80's and has ceased to be a relevant form.

Exactly what would be a disco song that is considered a classic of music yore?

Knotty Dread:

My first Disco adventure took place in the 1970-71 when I started visiting a place called the Sanctuary on 43 or 44 st on the west side.....9, 10th avenue....It was an old church and they had bleachers for those that didn't dance...Everyone else danced for hours, some had back-pack on their shoulders; It was non-stop...That was the beginning of the Disco Craze in NYC as far as I'm concerned.
You follow me? I've always been an avid music fan. Just recently after 2001, I gave it up for other interests. But, it's part of my identy. Can a leopard shed its spot? Or, an Ethiopian......

Disco Flowers and Disco Maboja were some of the first NYC real-deal DJ battle veterans,I first heard in the clubs and the local gigs, and block Parties..They'd close-off the neighborhood block and place one DJ with his wares on one end and the same on the opposite end....The battle would be a back and forth one-upmanship,but, in a hip urban together style.....What a symphony of sound....Endless mixing that from a distance you'd think it was all the same music....You never heard a pause or a change...Flawless...That was Disco.....Manhattan and Brooklyn and the Bronx....
