AnthonyC, i can guarantee you that a song like Disco Infernio has had more airplay, and more disco exposure, than anything that Joey Ramone and his fellow stoners ever did. disco might not have had any great intellectual nor artistic merit, but at least it served a purpose: you could dance to it. i would not go into a record store and buy any punk rock music. what the hell purpose does it serve? if i want noise, i can go to the airport. as for you, Arsenio, i have no immediate response. allow me a few weeks to assemble my thoughts, please. you are the undisputed champeen! |

Hmmm Rapture. the first Rap song ever to chart on the Billboard hot 100. Exactly what would be a disco song that is considered a classic of music yore? The Clash have a different opinion. Dreadie, We already know you have no compassion and you have delusions of grandeur. Now we all know you have no taste. Lets see. The Ramones are member's of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are constantly named as major influences by diverse artists as Nirvana, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Pink and even country western bands. The Tramps(Disco Inferno) are remembered for.........? Funny how you use market success to judge music. How Capitalistic of you. BTW The Ramones sold more albums that the Tramps could have ever dreamed of. And as for Airplay. At almost every MLB game the Ramones are heard by more people than the Tramps or Donna Summer or the BeeGees could ever dream of. Hey Ho....Lets Go. |

The Ramones also heavily influenced my favorite band as well..the Police! Disco has some merit. It was fun music and there's nothing wrong with that. "Don't ask me who's influenced me.
