Mirabal..

Yeah, man they were the best out of Mass. From New Berdford, MA----Cabo Verdeanos.
If I remember correctly the SNL Album had both the Bee Gees, and the Tavares versions on it.
Actually, they had a string of fantastic hits.
But, that piece was just the tip of the iceberg:

"It only takes a minute"; "Heaven must be missing an angel". " Don't take away the music",
"I want to know your name"...

Disco has some merit. It was fun music and there's nothing wrong with that.

That is my take.
It was good to dance to to lure some skirt into bed....That is it. Bubble-gum music with a beat.

yes, Anthony...bubble gum music with a beat. unlike , of course, punk rock, which is a display of pensiveness, and high art, a form sculpted for the aficionado of esoteric performances.

LOL..good point dread.

To me there are only two types of music: good music and bad music.

Blondie attempted to buy-into the Disco bag when it was just about dying out in the Summer of 1979;

The following year she (the group) followed-up with "Rap-ture"; A Rap-R&B mix.

I guess the rationale was; What ever pays the bills!

Another one bites the dust...................

Dude,

You don't get it. True Punk is a celebration of liberty. You can be left or right but believe in the individual. Your thoughts are your own not created by non-threatening marketing plans.

Punk music takes talent and aggression. You have to have balls.

Disco takes a drum machine and low quality blow.

Disco came in went in less than half a generation. Punk is still around.
