Ok I dont want to sound mean but this adventures of pirates and ship wreckage stories are interesting but starting to get boring. Hispanolasoy you need to stop it please. I am not denying your story but it is clearly that you are haitian. What passport do you hold or where were you born? Et Garçon good for you. Keep practising your french. You studied where again. No disrespect to neither one of you but c'mon. You guys really need to hook up and write a fictional book based on hispaniola and the quest to find who I am? publish it on wiki .com Can we keep our bio resumes in the archive folders and discuss the topic. Damn I knew I should've said anything..See

My man,

I did not want to get into a heartfelt story or journey of my background to people, but since it was questioned several times by both Haitians and Dominicans on here. Obviously since I was born in Haiti myself I suppose that explains why I tend to be more of an advocate in their cause.

However, I spent some of my childhood in DR or that I used to go almost every summer vacation when I am not somewhere else growing up. I just want to be stable and stop all that traveling around. I just want to be closer to where I consider home which is the Island of Ayiti, Quisqueya or Bohio now Hispaniola. I do not care if I live in Haiti or Dominican Republic. I just want peace, darn it!!! Is that my crime?

I went from both a Haitian and Dominican passport, to a French and now I hold an American one and I am in the United State Army, an Iraq war Veteran. Thus a Naturalized U.S Citizen who accepts being Haitian just as much I accept being Dominican or embrace my Arab ancestry as well. In fact I carry all three flags in my car, my house much deeper, in my heart. I am not about denouncing, denying nor glorify and idolize what I am, but I love all that I am because I can not escape being who I am. I am not for the divisive elitist or racist differences that both Haitians and Dominicans use to tear each other apart.

That is the thing between both Dominicans and Haitians is that one is never one thing enough. The Dominicans wants to say they are all those things yet, has shown no humanity towards understanding the importance of co-existence with Haiti. And Haiti will not set asides pride and their own denials and suffering to work toward reconciliation with Dominican Republic.

All in all, they both are using the very same tactics of race, old past resentments and European divides to keep them apart. That is what the shame is!!!

(Dominicans and Haitians)
Best of luck Hispanola,

Wilgeens Rosenberg

PS: Both nations have gone in circle dancing around the very same issues for years; thus neither of them is in any position to claim superiority or supremacy over the other since they both lack the humanity and civility. One points out that I am not Haitian enough, the other states I am not Dominican enough either. One claims, I am pro-Dominican and the other that I am pro-Haitian. One uses my Haitian background as though to make it sound like a demeaning thing, the other thinks I am denying being Haitian. Where does it end?

Let me guess, a Haitian would like me to deny that my mother and most of her family on her mother's side are from Dominican Republic, and a Dominican would like me to claim Haiti simply because some of my mother's father's side of the family are from Haiti. Some would think I am flattering the jews for accepting my father's ancestry. Thus nothing is never good or even bad enough for both Countries and much worse, neither want to realize their lack of dignity and integrity to what is going on. They both lack humane COMPASSION for one another. May I suggest we blow up the entire Island? I wonder if in light of a Nuclear Invasion to the Island if the two would ever come together to fight off and deter a possible upcoming threat. Neither one has it in them now to be able to put aside differences to unifiably coordinate strategically any tactics to fight a foreign force from occupying and colonize the entire Island if one foreign force were to wish to do so. Both nations are incapacitated by the greater racial divides they hold and cling onto dearly. If you ask me, deep inside, they both lack originality period.

RE: DOMINICANS AND HAITIANS, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
I think Mr. Muchacho has mad very good points with out offending any one and his facts and observations. Jabao, you made some good points, I Just wish there were other Haitians on here as well. Jemesouviens, where you at?????. Any who, I think the real issue is that Haitians despise the French or don't really like them and don't honor them as much do to the hardships suffered under there rule. Also, present day, France doesn't even help Haiti so Haiti is like the neglected step-child.

DR on the other hand, likes and pays hommage to the SPanish side, african, and taino side. The Spanish and taino do get more recognition but that's just the way Dominicans feel. The fact that Dominicans are not overly angry or upset with the Spaniard, drives Jabao crazy probably b/c the african-side is not done so at the same rate. I say to each it's own man.

RE: DOMINICANS AND HAITIANS, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
NY4life,

You are assuming and not even in the ball park. I can careless what domincians even haitians pay hommage to. When I am introduce to any dominican I don't ask them if they neglect there african heritiage and romanticise their spanish or taino heritage. Jabao doesnt care and it isn't my perogative how dominicans x or y perceive themselves. It is just ironic the begging of please accept me spaniards. Have you ever heard spaniards speaking about dominicans..Don't that would put any dominican with some sort of self dignity to bring out the machete or just cry of shame of all these years of fairy tale. On another note I thin that many haitians do hold a grudge towards the french and many french hold grudges towards haitians. Haitians in a way have a legitimate grudge..Haiti paid for her independence and france lost USA(midwest) because of the haiti. I personally think everyone needs to get over it and make mends. It is 2008 and I prefer to look ahead than back.

That word is not likely to come up in my daily econometric discussions on market dynamics and economic indicators. That’s for sure Lol. I have been far away from my place of birth for too long and that’s a given.
