DR never ever wanted to occupy Haiti. In fact, we rather stick to the status quo, which is to be a free nation in our own land. When USA got in such a bad situation form 1929-1939, they weren't "axing" or demanding for foreign help, they came up with ideas of their own and put the manufacturing base.

This is not the first time in the recent past that Dominicans are torturing or killing Haitians in DR. I do not see how Haitians can live in the DR. They are not welcome mainly because they are black and poor. On the other hand, there is a small number of rich white or black Haitians living and doing business in DR. you were mistaken when you wrote that austrians are not germans. more than 95% of the population of the state of austria is german. the state of austria is what remained of the hapsburg state-the austro-hungarian empire which collasped at the end of ww2. the republic of austria is prohibited by international treaties from refering to itself as german austria. i strongly suggest you read further on this subject. please note that vienna & salzburg are 2 great centers of german culture. what separates germany and austria are peace treaties following the end of ww1 &ww2.
