RE: DOMINICANS AND HAITIANS, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
misshaiti
Wasn't that kind of offensive. Why can't haitians and dominiquens fix their problem and work together. 1st of all. Haiti used to be takin care of the dominiquen republic. They wanted to take care of us to put us through slavery i've heard. So us haitians said no. And now everytime a haitian goes to cinqo domingo or if thats even the name they kill them. they torchure them and cut off their heads. i meen im proud to be haitian. why do the dominiquens have to keep killing us. trust me im not racist but stop murdering us cause you dont like seeing us get use to it it's lyf. My parents dont know why i love haiti so much cause i was born in florida. both of my parents are haitian. I love all racists. It's just that sudan ppl scare mii but watevr. Be friends. Thats what god wants. I mean I have alot of spanish and haitian friends asian and muslim and indian friends too. i love them. i dont like when i find out another haitian person was killed in the dominquen republic. it's not like wii killed u. Just work it out already. God help these people and nations.

See this was the animosity I was talking about in the "A Question for all my Dominican..." Thread. Miss Haiti was making a heartfelt attempt to create a solution then you guys just insult her. If anyone was the troll it were those who were making the offensive comments. Grow up..

any way the dominican republic do have some people with amerindian ancestry, but the majority of dominicans are mixed african and european than amerindian and what is considered white in DR is not white in england or germany. so embrace all your ancestries. and remember if you have light skin and hair like a haitian you are not taino. i see a lot of people like that in DR and you are not white when you have to put chemical to get it straight.

RE: Dominicans and Haitians, what is the problem?
I've been following this forum for a while, and though I might not agree with the way that a lot of you choose to phrase your opinions, I have to agree that the island of Hispaniola may be the only thing that Dominicans and Haitians have in common. Honestly, I don't blame Dominicans for not wanting to associate themselves with us (Not that there are many of us that are eager to associate with you); As far as I know, Dominicans fought very hard to become the nation they are today (As did the Haitians), and we as Haitians should not expect them to carry us. I believe that the only solution to this problem is for Haitians (Especially those who've migrated to other countries) to 'lace up our boots' and fix our country...then, and only then, will we be able to co-exist (at least on a diplomatic level).

"i never heard of a "Miss Haitian" candidate participating in miss universe... Ha ha ha!"

The reason why is because you or your parents were still living in a cave outside civilization when our Claudinette Fouchard was crowned Miss Universe in the 40s.
I would gladly add her pic on the spot in I was allowed to do so.
