what has Cuba done recently on the international sports scene? how many world boxing champions, for example? been to the world cup?tell me, and stop speakimg in parables.

Excuse me? " tell me, and stop speakimg in parables." Parables, you say Dear man what have you to say for "Cuba first participated at the Olympic Games in 1900, and has sent athletes to compete in 18 of 26 Summer Olympic Games overall. Cuban athletes have never participated in the Winter Olympic Games. Cuba is the most successful Olympic team among those nations who never won medals at Winter Olympics.

Cuban athletes have won a total of 194 medals at the Summer Olympics. Cuba has won the most medals overall of any country which has never won a medal at the Winter Olympics. Cuba has also won the third highest total number of medals (after Hungary and Romania) of nations that have never hosted the Games

The National Olympic Committee for Cuba is the Comité Olímpico Cubano, and was created in 1926 and recognized in 1954."

These are parables Concrete facts my dear dready, not conjecture .

Gold Mijail López 2008 Beijing Wrestling (Greco-Roman) Men's 120 kg
Silver Yarelys Barrios 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's discus throw
Silver Yoanka González 2008 Beijing Cycling (Track) Women's points race
Silver Yanet Bermoy 2008 Beijing Judo Women's -48 kg
Silver Anaysi Hernández 2008 Beijing Judo Women's -70 kg
Silver Yalennis Castillo 2008 Beijing Judo Women's -78 kg
Bronze Ibrahim Camejo 2008 Beijing Athletics Men's long jump
Bronze Yordanis Arencibia 2008 Beijing Judo Men's -66 kg
Bronze Oscar Brayson 2008 Beijing Judo Men's +100 kg
Bronze Idalys Ortiz 2008 Beijing Judo Women's +78 kg
Bronze Eglis Yaima Cruz 2008 Beijing Shooting Women's 50m rifle 3 positions

Look at the different Sports that Cuba won metals and compare them to Jamaica's metals from the same Olympics 2008.

Jamaica:
Gold Usain Bolt 2008 Beijing Athletics Men's 100 m
Gold Shelly-Ann Fraser 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 100 m
Gold Usain Bolt 2008 Beijing Athletics Men's 200 m
Gold Melaine Walker 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 400 m hurdles
Gold Veronica Campbell-Brown 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 200 m
Gold Nesta Carter
Michael Frater

Usain Bolt
Asafa Powell
Dwight Thomas 2008 Beijing Athletics Men's 4x100 metre relay
Silver Sherone Simpson 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 100 m
Silver Kerron Stewart 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 100 m
Silver Shericka Williams 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 400 m
Bronze Kerron Stewart 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 200 m
Bronze Shericka Williams
Shereefa Lloyd
Rosemarie Whyte
Novlene Williams
Bobby Gaye-Wilkins 2008 Beijing Athletics Women's 4×400

While at first glace one might be overly impressed by the far larger Gold Metal count, impressive I must say, and the silver metal count, the vital consideration involves overall Comprehensive competitiveness And while Cuba only managed One Gold metal, her overall competitiveness in other sports is the mark of a true Sport power. Again, remember we're talking about the Caribbean context. Yes, Jamaica had a wonderful Olympics, but ALL the metals were in Track and Field.

my pony brings his best stuff on race day. he does not get beaten by donkeys and mules. he acts like the thoroughbred he is, when called upon to show his stuff.

Dready,

I have no quarrel with respects to Jamaica's substantial lead over DR in the Olympics competition. We have 2 Gold Metal, one in Track and Field and 1 in Boxing But remember, DR is a country that's coming into its own, with all the warts and troubles about. She has trending on her side. And if she maintains good form, both in spirit and contributions towards sports, very good results will follow. Don't know if you've noticed, but DR has a lot of fast twitch muscles going to waste. What happens if and when she starts using them in proper pursuits, Man Think she might win a few more gold metals? And BTW, again DR, EVEN WITH HER PUNY SUM, OF 4 TOTAL METALS HAS ONE GOLD METAL MORE THAN JAMAICA OUTSIDE OF TRACK AND FIELD SO BE CAREFUL MAN, WE COMING FOR YOU

Sport Gold Silver Bronze Total
Boxing -- 1 0 1 2
Athletics 1 0 0 1
Taekwondo 0 1 0 1
Total ------2 1 1 4

BTW, DREADY THIS IS FUN DON'T TAKE IT TOO PERSONAL, OK
