Hundreds of bystanders are digging through the rubble of the building in Petionville, a suburb of the capital. An Associated Press reporter saw people carrying bloodied students from the site. The second story of the concrete building had collapsed onto the first on Friday for unknown reasons. United Nations peacekeepers and members of the Haitian Red Cross have arrived on the scene. No casualty figures were immediately available. So, it is not ouside the boundaries of possibility for such a disaster to be occasioned here; what will be your response then? |

That's why I believed that it was news worthy. It's about children in a heart-breaking accident. We all know what it's like to lose one of our loved ones. Now, I promote Quisqueya because that's my heritage; However, I'm human, just like the next guy. If it happened in Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, Dorchester, South End, or even Lawrence, and children were involved it would still be relevant. Where-ever there's a calamity such as this school collapse, it's news.
