Que Pitos? Recently, after the Atlantic Ocean crash of Air France Flight 447 that took off from Rio de Janeiro headed for Paris; I thought about the incident or accident profoundly. I then detected somewhat of a pattern, yet, couldn't put my finger on it. Then, I remembered another accident, this one a "miraculous" airplane incident, The US Airways Flight 1549 safely in New York's Hudson River Jan. 15, of this year. Well, I was almost close to "making the connection". Then, yesterday it all fell in place when I remembered the crash of American Airlines flight 587, on November 12, 2001, from NYC, to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The home bound plane solved the enigma for me. That day was a tragic shock to me after the September 11, fatalities. I've never been the same person since that day. And it reminds me of the 80's pop song 'Rumors' that goes a bit like this: How do rumours get started? They're started by the jealous people"..... Then it says what I'm trying to point out here: "I'm a man who thinks, "not" a man who drinks, so please let me live my life" Thank you Lord, for allowing me to think and live soberly. "I can see clearly' now". You can't pull the wool over my eyes! No se me pasa ni una!...Bueno, tal vez una. The three Accidents have one thing in common; It is the manufacturer of the planes was AIRBUS, the biggest thing to 'hit' Europe since the printing press. When I first heard of Airbus in the early 80's, it was a government funded or 'partnered' venture between England and France. A state owned bi-national Corporation....AIRBUS; "La Cheita" de Francia y Inglaterra. American Airlines flight 587 (SDI) 11/12/2001===Airbus A300-600 US Airways Flight 1549 Hudson River 1/15/2009==Airbus A320 Air France Flight 447 Paris 5/31/2009===========Airbus A330 Here we can all see that there's something strange with the AIRBUS fleet. Or, not? They thought they could make a better plane than Boeing or McDonell-Douglas? Quote: The cost to Air France-KLM’s pool of insurers, which includes Allianz SE and American International Group Inc., will depend on estimates of the travelers’ nullified lifetime earnings and any negligence demonstrated by the airline. Insurers covering plane manufacturer Airbus SAS and servicing contractors may also be liable once officials determine why the A330-200 dropped into the Atlantic Ocean. “It’s going to be an expensive claim,” said Stephen Riley, executive director of Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers Ltd., which has 7.5 percent of the plane’s coverage. “This will be the largest loss to the insurance market arising from an aircraft accident since that loss in late 2001,” when a flight from AMR Corp.’s American Airlines crashed in Queens, New York killing 265 people and costing about $600 million, he said. Buffett, AIG, Allianz Riley has said his firm is backed by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. AIG, the insurer that received a $182.5 billion government bailout, has 12.5 percent of the coverage on the Air France flight, said Marie Ali, a spokeswoman for the New York-based company’s property-casualty unit. The insurer’s net loss on the coverage is capped at $21 million, she said. Allianz, identified by de La Morinerie as another company in the pool, had no comment, said Hugo Kidston, a spokesman for the insurer. What do you think about this? Are my assertions based on observable facts? Share you thoughts. I want to see who else is thinking along these lines? Are innocent people flying and dying at their own risk? Who's minding the store? AIG Insurance, huh? The same AIG that has received $180 Billion of U.S. Tax-payer's money. Is it a coincedence they are all Airbus-Maybe. The US Airways flew through a flock of birds, or a bunch of birds flew into it. On all planes of any size and smaller ones and helicopters there are Pitot tubes and they are forward facing extentions of instramentation in the cockpit, airspeed, and so on. If the airspeed is not measured correctly the auto-pilot probably malfunctions ( I am assuming). Information on Pitot tubes. http://www.spaceagecontrol.com/pm/uploads/Main.Litroom2/naca-tn-616.pdf I think it would be more an issue of maintenance or cutting corners to save money that could be the real factor here. If a Tube costs a total of $3000 including installing them and each plane has two of them and you own a fleet of 200 planes that is $1,200,000 in Pitot tube replacement costs a year or double if you have to replace them twice a year. Texasshoe, I mentioned the pitot tubes as a contributing factor (so far) to the recent Air France mishap. That was not the focus of my observation; It was the coincidence in the three downed planes being Airbus manufactured. That was my lead, and discovery. There's more to this than just pitot tubes. In the crash of the American Airlines flight 587 destined for Santo Domingo DR on November, 12, 2001, had 251 passengers and nine crewmembers who fell to their deaths. Many of them were Dominicanos just like me; And I was deeply affected by this tragedy. Now quite a few Brazilians have perished in the Air France flight bound for Paris. I also feel a Kinship with the Brazilian people. So, that's what I was talking about. Texas.. Cyberanonymity, the usual M.O. of the trolls and trollops. ![]() Dios, Patria y Libertad. Then turning on the TV on arriving home - about 100 miles from the accident and the news. However flying is world wide enterprise - friends tend to limit their flights to one every couple of years or so - this definitely reduces the risk and saves the environment. For short hops e.g. London to Paris train does seem to be safer. Some airlines have excellent safety records; regardless of equipment others not. Arensio, Flight 587 is still fresh in my mind. A horrible tragedy that the Dominican community and greater American community experienced. I remember the pain, sorrow, tears, frustration, and anger I felt when I saw a plane heading to DR filled mostly with my compatriots, nose-dive in Howard Beach, Queens. The lives lost will NEVER replace the families pain or the pain to the Dominican community. I'm glad someone finally put up a thread about this, although, not fully about Flight 587, it is still an important event for our community. THe rudder was the issue of the crash. It went up at 9:14 and down at 9:17. In three minutes both engines blow off and the rudder snapped. Very suspicious given the two month time frame after 9/11. No bomb? Very suscipicious. I didn't know both engines blow off in three minutes b/c excessive rudder pull to the left. NUNCA OLVIDEMOS LA VICTIMAS DEL VUELO 587. QUE DIOS LO TENGAN EN LA GLORIA. SEGUIMOS LUCHANADO PARA QUE NUNCA SUCEDE DE NUEVO. LA COMUNIDAD DOMINICANA MERCE RESPECTO. Edited on 6/11/2009 10:14 AM by ny4life. |

A whole plane load of our people. That made me repent from many things I'd done or hadn't done. And it was a landmark date for me. No matter what any insesitive moron says it was another stab at my heart, coming just two months and 1 day after September 11, was just too much to bear, bro. On another note. I have a son that works right accross the street from (The WTC) Ground ZERO. He went for his final interview accross from WTC, on Monday-September 10, 2001. He missed the destruction by one day! Is that a miracle or what? He's been working there since then, 9/10/2001. Besides that, a friend of the family, and kid I saw grow up from a toddler (my Dad gave him Christmas presents every year) to finally get his own office way up on the upper floors; That young man who done good DIED that Terrible Tuesday. I also have a daughter that works in the Wall Street area (for 10 years), and when things like these consecutive disasters, black-outs, lock-downs happen, I go nuts worrying about my adult kids, and my family in Manhattan, you know? No cell-phone signals, phone lines are busy or out of order. It's like vertigo and a migrane at the same time. Some people think that Amerika gets whats coming for excessive greed - I do not and hope soon these stupid office blocks are empty of their own accord. S. |
