There all over the city...brazilians, nicaraguans, dominicans, puerto ricans, colombians, venezuelans, panamanians..I met residents of that city from all the before mentioned countries..there's a few latin clubs that I hit up where I noticed how all the latinos congregate together down there...I guess it's because of there relatively low numbers but they are indeed there and are visible. Wow. Photos of Little Haiti and Overtown and you condemn a whole city? The only photo of Little Havana was of the Orange Bowl which was being demolished to make room for the new baseball stadium. Allaphatta is a Ghetto but it was worse before the Dominican showed up. They have actually improved the area. Orlando is a shit-hole. Cultural wasteland. Economic disaster. Nothing to do whatsoever. Hell they don't even have an ocean. The only reason to go there is to take my nephews to Universal Studios. Myers are Mexican and they tend to be concentrated in the eastern parts. There are some brazilians and there is a great Brazilian Restaurant on US41. F.Y.I. On Florida's West coast (Except Tampa) You will find the poorer neighborhoods are on the east side of town. On the East Coast it is on the Northside. Listen to compatriota Ciby; But, for my money Stuart-St. Lucie is ideal. I once owned property there. I also lived in West Palm Beach in 1990, and would drive south and north on exploration trips with the company car and gas. That's when I discovered the Stuart area and points north. They are not densely popuated like the area south of Riviera Beach - Homestead. That's like 90 miles of one town after another off I95, or A1A or Dixie Highway or Federal Higway. One big Levittown; Stay away, head north of that ruckus and mayhem prone areas. Well let me tell you I was raised in new york and spent too many years in Miami. Given the option again, I stay in New York. Miami is a wanna-be city. It has ambitions to be the next Monaco and far short of being Real. On the other hand New york is diverse eclectic, dynamic, alive and though course at times(depending on your personality) it is real. New York unlike Miami so to speak is not controlled by anyone race or peoples. Miami is in the purest sense, Plastic and over rated. Why wont Dminincan Republic prosper? Because Dominicans are just plain to Stupid |

The biggest wussies are from NYC. They freak out over a roach while I play with 'gators. They can't drive. They think the NY Times is a good paper. They are terrified of guns. Vote for more taxes Visit Miami whenever they can and yet say the NYC is the greatest.......ha. Aside from some overrated Broadway plays NYC has become a cultural and intellectual wasteland. Nothing comes out of NYC anymore. I have lived in various places. Europe(Spain and Italy), S.D. Costa Rica, Ecuador, Los Angeles, Houston, and New York City(Upper Eastside) I keep on returning to my slice of Miami Surburbia. Pinecrest. 5 mins from some of the world's greatest fishing. 20 mins to the 'Glades. 30 mins to the Keys. 20 from laughing at tourist in Sobe. 20 mins from the Design District which is were the cool people go. 10 mins from Coconut Grove which is too cool for even the design district people. The Miami Dolphins, U of Miami Football and Baseball. Another Super Bowl and most importantly within 2 1/2 hours drive of 5 race tracks. Sarasota is more populated, more developed and has more of everything; for all intents and purposes it is a suburb of Tampa, it's of I-75 a very busy highway. Now, if you want to live in a less hectic, not ascongested area, I'd choose Pt. St. Lucie - Stuart; Plus, it's on the Atlantic Coast which was one of your first wishes. Also, in Winter there is a considerable difference in warmth between the Atlantic and the Gulf Coast. Se pone friisimo en el Golfo! ![]() Stuart, Florida ![]() Area Airpots: ![]() Pt. I and many others grew up in NYC and are very decent, professional, working people. The community and schools help when raising kids but it is ultimately about the education they receive within the household. I know plenty of suburban kids that went astray - their families just manage to keep the issues hush hush because no one's watching like here in the city. Santana, do avoid South Florida, it is ghetto and definitely not worth leaving NYC for. Edited on 7/13/2009 10:17 PM by DominicanChic. |
