comparing Las Vegas to Florida ?
well I live in Vegas for the last 14 years and plan to move to Florida as soon as my financial will be in there.
the main reason I have 3 and 6 years old boy/girl and my wife from Dominican Republic and realy we don't want our kinds grow up in Vegas.for family there are nothing to do then go to buffet and after 14 years living/working in casino that's not fun anymore.in las Vegas BLV there are hundreds of short/mexican that passing cards for call girls and most people drop them in street and twice we pass by and my kids were asking what are these nude photos.Las Vegas no park any kind/them or sport stadium or beaches(nearest river about 300 mills)all dessert and weather few moths of unbelievable wind then dry cold then 4 months of hell/hot(today is at 112c)and we are all indoor and kids all they can do watch tv.
L as Vegas from high school drop off/rubbery/drink&driving/prostitution/forclosure homes #1 in nation.
but paradise for old lonely people with drinking problem or fix income to play in casino and earn point to eat free in buffet.....
I will study Florida for 18 months to move and buy business where ?
we will move by end of 2011 and will drive weeks to see all florida but will read all tips here as well and thanks to all....BTW Las Vegas great place for couple days visit but nightmare for family with small kids.

MOMO brother, I don't know exactly where in Florida you want to move but please think twice. Yes, Florida is nice, warm and pretty but it is very hard to make a living here. Jobs do not pay and if they pay they want to squeeze blood out of you as much as they can. We have too many people from Latin America willing to work for peanuts. There is a cut throat mentality among the Hispanics. If you want to raise your family with a good to high standard of living you might be able to do it but you will spend too much time at work trying to earn a decent income and not enough time with your family.

Something has got to give, either you live a plain and simple life to enable quality time with your family or you won't see your kids growing up. I suggest states like Georgia, South or North Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC. If you don't mind the cold winter wheather consider the midwest or New England. Chicago or Boston are excellent cities, great culture and the best education money can buy. But not only the culture and education for your kids is superior but also employment opportunities will be so much better for you and your family in any of those states. There is little to no culture and education in Florida is considered poor and not respected in the rest of the US.

Think and analyze well what you are going to do before you do it. Florida would be my last choice. I came to Miami aproximately 20 years ago and regret it very much. After you grow roots in an area it is very hard to leave later, but the price I paid for moving here was way too high and simply not worth it. I would never again live here or raise any of my kids in Florida. There are too many distraction here that will take their attention away from school.

in order to overcome the multiple negative influences you will have to be a very strong father and disciplinarian. Living here will make your job as a father very tough. Believe what I am talking about. This not a good place to raise a family. OK maybe for elementary level might be alright, just to get them out of Las Vegas, but once they reach teen-age years, don't wait, don't waste time, get them the hell out of Florida ASAP. If I had to do it again, I would consider New York first before coming to Miami. Don't let the blue sky, beach weather, tropical life fool you like it did me.
