Quote: hectorvargas previously said: To live in D.R. you must have and maintained a budget as you may be doing in the U.S. To built at this time is very costly. the best thing to do is to buy something already build from someone in need of money but who does not know that you travel. Again you must be careful on whatever you decide. Presantly I'm building my house and it has taken me and my wife more than ten years and still we have some details work to do. My brother wants to retired and returned to D.R. I have advice him to save as much as he can, stayed at my home, get to know the country before spending or investing. If you have a relative that is willing to let you stayed at their home without charging you what you have save( paid a small rent for your stayed). Then that will be the best route to take before you decide were you will like to live. D.R. is a great place especially if you are dominican. All i can say is that this is Free Loading, how dare you thats not right even if they don't ask you for anything to stay there, don't you think that it would be wise of you to relent money to the household, just don't forget if they let you stay with them for free........you will be eating their 3 to 4 times a day, showering 3 to 4 times a day, a bed to stay on which means some children will end up on the floor just to accomodate you. Even thought your thinking that in order for you to get ahead that family "should help you" is an understatement......if they were to help you and provide complete free service to you and in 3 years you do get ahead.....buy your house and are living it up....are you then going to remember the family who helped you get there and are you going to offer money to them for all they did while you were living it up on their good tidings?
