Well I'm Rajat, I'm looking for a career opportunity in consulting business relating to Finance or hospitality. I'm from India and I'm sure that DR will follow the footsteps of liberalization as India. So with decent experience here, i would like to offer my services in DR.
Kindly suggest me whom to approach and which vacancies will be suitable for me.

I'm Computer Engineer with MBA in Marketing management and currently working with Dassault Systemes Ltd. in IT sales and PR

Just stay in India or go to the U.S., you will have a better experience with the services you are offering. We Dominicans are con artist, we will take you for everything you got.

You have to be mas tiguere than the next guy... play the game and you could make it in DR

Business is very easy in the DR. Many foreign nationals make it big time. Huge unexpoited resources exist - the people, the land, the proximity to major markets - US and Europe - Russia.
The inernal market of the carrib is massive also.
It is very difficult to fail with the tremendous riches the land has to offer!

Merely saying there are "huge unexploited resources" that exist is not going to cut it with me. How about a few examples for us novices.

Brasil stop wasting our time you troll, you can care nothing about this thread. Go hyjack another thread, we are talking business here.

I'm not hijacking anything here, go mind your own affairs. I was merely trying to see what opportunites he was referring too,

Starting to see local pak choi. There is a huge Chinese community along the Easten seaboard of the US. Also other islands.
Increasing exports are taking place to Belgium and the UK of organic produce.

RE: Career in DR
Hey Mucho Loco,

Have you gone totally viral?

Any more crazy ideas?

Don't think that tropical India, with a vastly larger coastline than DR, could produce way more coconut and bananas than DR?

You've got to find a different niche, for those tropical products are plentiful in rest of tropics, and I do not see them prospering at exponential rate.

This guy can be applauded for wanting to come to our shores to do business, but he has to bring some unique perspective that is not already available in DR. I don't really want to dilute opportunities for Dominicans, if you catch my drift.

If he brings something new and work opportunities to DR, fine. If not, then he can always welcome him as a money-paying tourist. I am good with that.

RE: Career in DR
India is a long way from US shipping costs are significant. Fresh coconut products are so much better than canned. DR exports of pak choi have barely started.
In a growing trade an energetci Indian businessman with contracts in Europe and US could assist the DR people

Mucho Loco,

Are you assuming then that the destination for DR products is US? What about your favored UK and communist block?

I am so shocked!

I am sure there must be a few intelligent people in the US who would like to buy organic quality DR products and would prefer to ward off the evil spirits of Wal-mart with excellent DR garlic.
