In terms of the ratios you, not me, give US is importing far more than it is exporting. Ratio .72.
Gemrany on the other hand is exporting more than it is importing ratio 1.15.
So long term US will have to sell its assets in order to meet deficit, become self sufficient, reduce oil imports etc or devalue the dollar so a US car for example sells for the same price as an equivalent Chinese or German car.
