Look I was only really trying to be humerous, but sex does sells. All kidding aside, it is fact, advertisers budget millions in advertising dollars where hypersexualised imagery and sexual innuendos is used instead of the actual product sold as the tool and basis of their add campaign.

actually, guillermone, i was referring more to your sociological explanation, involving education and respect for health.

OK, thanks Dread, I guess maybe I should just stick to my day job because as a comedian I won't be able to earn a living.

But anyway, again thanks for the complement. However, I can not take credit for the idea. I have always read and heard that there is a direct correlation between socio-economic and educational levels with obesity and dietary related illnesses.

guillermone, you might not be the pioneer of the information, but it is to your credit that you are aware of it. you could have been like some of the members in this forum, who seem to be allergic to knowledge.

Propaganda methods are needed by DR government to encourage quinoa then. Feed it free in schools first mixed with oats!
Issue contracts to grow for schools or help schools grow it themselves in rural areas. 10 contracts to grow for schools for a pilot scheme would be a trivial amount compared with overall education spending.
Supervise school meals so children eat everything off the plate and the kids grow up strong and do not hang round restaurants looking for scraps.
Maybe the government should publish for schools a comic 4 times a year for distibrution to school pupils on healthy eating and 'digging for victory' as you kind peole have identified there may be a major DR diet problem!

Can this woman make quinoa sexy?

Dominicans would not be down with quinoa, because I see how my family looks at it when I cook it. I'm sort of a health nut and quinoa is cheap (in bulk) and highly nutritious (protein packed).

Look the reason you consume quinoa is because you have an open mind, are well read, care about your body and health, and probably have a higher then average educational level. I can appreciate that and will be my motivation as well. But the target market are the Dominican masses and those folks don't know any better, nothing beyond "arró, habicuela y calne."

However, if you tell them or imply that quinoa is good for the weiner, you might just see Dominican males have a different attitude, likely to see dietary habits take a sudden U-turn. And you never know, it might just do the trick. Forget about quinoa is good for your health, and that it is a good source of protein crap, they won't relate to that, rather focus the attention on the libido, I am sure it will almost be a "weiner" every time.

You're correct on all counts.

When I had school meals if you did not finish the plate you had punishment. Instead of sport you would have to write essays or dig a trench. privilidged sports such as swimming were also out.
The school doctor visited every 2 years and examined us all. The school needed a good report from the school doctor. So the food was really good two weeks before the doctor's visit. Instead of the normal 1/3 pint of milk at break the class being examined could take two third pints.
A good report on pupils fitness was important to the school.
I think it worked - children who at age 6 were very weak from east Europe and other countries grew up fit and strong. I remember one Polish school mate - he was sick a lot and very thin. At age 14 he had really caught up.
The evil Thatcher - one of her many crimes was to cut school nutrition. But now Heroes like Blair have restored programmes and even most conservatives agree with this.
If more money is spent on education in countries such as the DR priority No. 1 No. 1. must be nutrition programmes.
