It has been long known that Evangelista was very difficult to deal with, in fact he committed the cardinal sin of not having anyone from his camp present during the hand wrapping of Antonio Margarito that suffered his nephew's first loss. That alone is a much deserved reason for an expulsion. The undercard will feature a great match-up which has the potential to steal the show. The Ivan Calderon vs. Rodel Mayol has all the makings of what can be a great fight. Mayol has not lost since he began training with fellow Pinoy superstar Manny Pacquiao, under the tutelage of Freddy Roach in the legendary Wild Card Gym. Calderon has never lost and has been the king of the little big men for over 8 years. Keep an eye on this one, fast paced action with excellent technical skills will be on display. The fight could've gone either way but ONLY because of the first round knockout. Had it not been for that Clottey would've had the fight hands down. Either way Cotto displayed tremendous heart last night. It was a good fight. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill |

The knock down gave him a one point advantage, but the fight would have still been close. I dont remember all score cards but what would the effect have been if the point was deducted. Also, no points were deducted for the rabbit punch.... all in all it was a good fight .. maybe a rematch is in order ! you have to give Cotto credit for his heart and cutman.... the guy was cut in the 3rd round and Clottey didnt capitalize on that and the crew actually stopped the bleeding,. now we're off to see Mayweather win another fight! |

Close fight last night but the knockdown was a legit knockdown, and so it's difficult to give Clottey the scorecard. If round one could be scored 9 - 9 perhaps there is a case for Clotttey, but under the 10 point must system it had to be a 10 - 8 for Cotto. Clottey, tough guy, but learned to flop from soccer players. |
