Quote: HateroPardo previously said: 82 - 8 just look at that record; men of this caliber no longer exist in boxing. our p4p champs are all done by 40 fights, and many retire after just a couple of losses. hard to blame them, but all the more reason to respect giants of the past, even the small ones like Arguello. Hermano ese Arguello era un tolete...I've never really seen any of his boughts until now though I have heard of the man and boy, let me tell you, this guy's punching power was VERY impressive. Did this guy ever do it up with Duran? Let me tell you, I HAVE A BUNCH OF HIS FIGHTS!. With Olivares, with Limon, with Chacon, with Pryor, with Mancini with Costello.....you name it, I should have it. El Flaco Explosivo era un tolete y medio. papa do you have the fight with arguello an culebra? alfredo escalera gave arguello all he could handle back when fights were 15 rounds. the biggest problem with escalera was that he cut too easily. great fight which i believe they fought twice. arguello if you look at his weight was very parrallel to manny pacquiao an vice versa an i give arguello a definete edge against pacquiao if they both fought each other in their primes. arguello was an absolute gentleman in the ring cause he would knock you out then would go right to you an tend to you immediately crying for what he did? the fight with him an kevin rooney was hillarious in that regard. if you see the right hand alexis hit him with. it was like an archer shooting an arrow like i have never seen anything so straight in my life being thrown. lands right on rooneys chin and thats was all she wrote as birds were circling his head. alexis the gentlemen he was went right over to his knocked out victim obviously concerned about him. man was the same outside the ring as well. The first one, when he lost the title to Arguello, Escalera was doing ok but Arrguello ripped him apart, winning that fight by knockout. (I must say both fighters threw each others the kitchen sink) The second first, I thought he was winning that fight and if he could've lasted all the rounds, hands down, he was going to win it......too bad Arguello knockout him out once again. Very, very talented fighter. About Arguello vs Pacquiao.....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeellll, in my opinion, Pacquiao is a lefty and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to fast for Arguello, who always came straight at you, a perfect candidate for a left jab, right overhand and then a straight left hand.....but let me tell you, even with his quickness, all Arguello needed to land was one of his BOMBS and 'Down goes Pacquiao, Down goes Pacquiao". you have to think of the advantages that arguello has over pacquiao besides power which is a reach plus height. pacquiao would find out really fast that it isnt marquez hitting him. pacquiaos style plays into arguello ripping him apart. torbellino dies out there sir! lololol Conocer al cojo sentao!
