Bypassing either to fight Clottey is not only a cop out, but might end up being a costly mistake for Shane. Quote: Glimmertwin previously said: also, after seeing clottey fight Cotto, I would bet on Clottey over Shane,,,, Quote: TuPapaupa previously said: "Fight Cotto"......for what?.......Cotto already beat him. Mayweather would have Shane for dessert. I had a great time watching Mosley demolish the cockroach Margarito, but Mosley is a paper champ waiting to be taken by anyone in the op 5, including Clottey. Cotto has a win over Mosley, he has the best resume in the division, and just edged by the man Shane is rumored to be chasing. And on the sidelines is Mayweather, who Shane already ducked after the Vargas fight by claiming 'his teeth hurt'. Manny, This is my problem with boxing, the rules are never ever defined or properly enforced. Margarito and his trainer should be in jail not suspended for a year. They could have caused permanent damage to Cotto's career if not outright killed him. Margarito hit Cotto with real stone hands, what is the difference between this thuggery and the one perpetrated by Luis Resto and Panama Lewis? Resto and Lewis went to jail and so should have Margarito and his trainer. |

He would've beaten Wladimir and BEFORE getting out of the ring, could've have beaten Vitali. That's how talented he was. The talent was there, but his priorities were all over the place. Tupap, I met and spoke to Mr. Bowe at a PAL event after he had become a World Champion. He told me that the hardest thing in the world was to get up at 5 a.m. to do road work with 10 million dollars in the bank. I found that to be a most poignant statement indeed. He is the Carl Pavano of boxing. JAJAJA. I am "An Army Of One" ![]() Come Get Some!!. |

Well Tupap, Mr. Pavano is undergoing a resurgence in his career and sadly Mr. Bowe is looking to make a comeback although his slurs his speech terribly and no state will sanction him. Very sad. |

They both committed a much bigger crime than Margarito.....granted, Margarito and his trainer should go to prison but their crime was far less "criminal" than the other 2 cowards, Resto and Lewis. This is what happened to Billy Collins after that fight, on which Panana Lewis, with Resto's acknowledge, not only took most of the gloves padding out, but also put plaster on Resto's "wrap"......Billy Collins: 1- Wasn't able to fight again because of blurred vision, 2- Became an alcoholic, 3- Became a drug user, 4- Couldn't hold a job because boxing was all he knew how to do, 5- Killed hinself 9 months after the fight, when still in his early 20's.!!!. Obviously Billy Collins suffered a much more horrible fate but respectfully I disagree in that the final results do not dismiss the intent of the villainy. The intent was to inflict as much damage as possible as to win the fight without regard to the physical well being of the opponent. That one opponent happened to suffer far more than the other was due more to their fighting styles than any consideration by the perpetrators. Edited on 6/21/2009 5:22 PM by devin11. |

That's my opinion about The Cobra. What he did to Duran, holly shit, was AMAZING. 5 minutes after getting off the canvas, Duran was still asking "what happened, is the fight over already?".
