I am glad to see Chicago loose the Olympic bid. I was born in Chicago and love the city, but this is a good wake up call that shows us that the world does not love USA as much. The US makes it difficult for people from other countries to get visitors visas. I beleive that was one of the main factors. Chicago has everything that you need to pull off an Olympic event, but I was not going to be happy with all of the increased taxes generated to pay the Olympic bill. I read that the Olympic board wanted a blank check from the city. That is crazy! We pay enough taxes in the US and I am glad to have another country be the sucker and pay for this bill.

Also, the Olympics is good for cities that are under developed like Rio... Chicago has mass transportation and all we would gain is more stadiums. Toronto has an empty stadium from past Olympics and is still paying the Olympic bill

Its funny because people had started to buy real estate in the areas projected to be Olympic areas. I am glad to see this end. . every one was going to be stuck with higher taxes... We already pay 10.25% sales tax in Chicago!!! Alot of corruption was also going to take place, contracted olympic jobs were going to be handed out to family and friends, just like what goes on in DR
