Atabey drones on I guess Mira and I still have much to teach you two dynamic duos why not just you, Atabey? why do you have to drag in Mirabal´s name? can´t stand alone on your two pegs? have to try and round up a posse? as to Tupapaupa asking you about the cut and paste...simple answer. you have no analysis of your own that is worth a good crap. that is why you have to copy what others write. you droned on forever about TINA, when every analyst with half a brain has discredited neoliberalism. so, Atabey, go begging for autographs, dressed up in your Jeter jersey....Memorial Day is not far off, so you will be able to go to some backyard barbecue and hit some whiffle balls. Ah, Dread still up to your old games Since you don't care to follow the discussion thread, I guess there's no need to make you do so Why don't you worry about things you Can understand: Like what size adult pampers to order There are several things worse than growing old and you exhibit several of them: To wit, growing old and bitter. And, growing old and refusing to acknowledge your wrongs. I caught you again with your "pants down" with a indefensible opinion on the Washington National Baseball prospect death by bacterial Meningitis and you desperately have tried to obfuscate matters ever since. I guess I'll find your answers on your "Copy ad Paste" BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Chico, I had to respond to the old fart. Now on to the subject: Marichal and Roseboro. So you, Papaupa, are dead set against Marichal and would throw the book at him. OK. Now tell me your take of this incident. To me it was an even more egregious act of violence than Marichal's and given that it involved a player going INTO THE STAND and beating the living daylights out of a FAN. Both actions are truly among the holiest of No-Nos in sports. "Another major controversy in Cobb's career occurred in 1912, and this led to the first players' strike. During a game in New York on May 15 of that year, Cobb was subjected to vicious and unrelenting heckling from the fans, especially a disabled man named Claude Lueker, who for several years had made sport of heckling Cobb whenever the Tigers visited Hilltop Park. Finally, unable to stand the abuse and urged on by his teammates, Cobb went into the stands and attacked Lueker, who had lost one hand and most of the other in a printing press accident. When he was informed of the incident, Ban Johnson suspended Cobb indefinitely. Despite their dislike for Cobb, his teammates were outraged, and announced that they would not play again until Cobb was reinstated. After a one-game farce in which the Tigers fielded a team of semipro players, the matter was resolved when Cobb's suspension was reduced to ten days." Sorry if this is too much reading, but I reduced it to a paragraph. BTW, what major did you finish College with? http://bioproj.sabr.org/bioproj.cfm?a=v&v=l&pid=2593&bid=1721 "If you want to sleep well at night, it's best to avoid watching the making of sausages or politics." BTW, what major did you finish College with? http://bioproj.sabr.org/bioproj.cfm?a=v&v=l&pid=2593&bid=1721 First of all, Dread and I are not a duo....he has his opinions and I have mine..... Do not disrespect me because I have not disrespected you........ We are talking like adults here............ So far I don't think you are in the same category as vacanos, generoso, Pepe32 , poponLaBURRA and the other babosos that have an "issue" with me because I don't cover the sun with one finger, so please stop talking to me as if I were a moron. I already told you how I feel about Marichal (whom I have shaken hands with, btw).........(meaning that I don't dislike the man). I told you that I think he SHOULD be in the HOF.......but not the first year or eligibility because of what he did to Roseboro........ And to make myself clearer, I don't give a rat's a$$ if he is Dominican.....I would think the same way had him been Puerto Rican, Mexican or from Mars.......... What does my major had to do with anything?..... If you MUST know, I'll send you a PM with my name and you can call Kingsborough College......then you can call Albright College (took some courses there) and then St. John's University (took some courses there also) and the'll tell you my majors. I told you that I think he SHOULD be in the HOF.......but not the first year or eligibility because of what he did to Roseboro........ Yes. I understand. But given that Baseball had established precedent with other notable cases: To wit, the Ty Cobb incident when he went into the stands and beating up a man to a pulp who happened to have NO HANDS; he had lost them to some industrial accident. Cobb got ten days for that Ty Cobb was among the first inductees into the HOF. A first Ballot inductee. His many transgressions and there were many, including racists outbursts, fighting, gambling on games Edited on 4/19/2011 12:27 PM by Atabey. His many transgressions and there were many, including racists outbursts, fighting, gambling on games , etc. I'm sure you can deduce from the link I provided to the paragraph that Ty Cobb had many more infractions and serious ones vis-a-vis Marichal in their respective careers. I'm just trying to get others to a more balanced view on this matter. Because Marichal is Dominican DOESN'T MEAN he should be vilified any worse than other Greats of the game.
