The Dominican Republic sucks when it comes to supporting the heavy metal scene Iron Maiden has concert dates so far in Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and have played in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico and dominican republic won't bring them here which to me says it all.

Why don't you stop bitchin and do something about it?

Put on the Concert yourself. It is easy. Just follow the steps.

Rent a concert hall.
Hire Iron Maiden.
Get all the permits and permissions.
Arrange for security.
Arrange for transportation.
Arrange for Lodging.
Arrange for customs
Organize logistics. (You have no Idea how much is involved here)
Hire a Caterer.
Sign Sponsors.
Draw up an implement a Marketing and P.R. campaign
Print Tickets.
Promote.
Promote.
Promote.
Sell tickets.
Count the money.
Pay the bills.
Realize you lost mega-$$$$$.

AnthonyC, this is one of the rare occasions that I actually agree with you.

Boy are you way off base.

Did it ever cross your mind that the list I gave you comes from experience?

What do you think? Just because you want something somebody has to provided for you? It doesn't matter if a concert promoter looses money as long as you get your precious Iron Maiden?

I don't listen to either reggeaton of bachata but your affection in Iron Maiden does not make you a music aficionado either.

What are you talking about? What truth? You were simply told what to do if you want Iron Maiden to perform in DR and I happened to agree with the suggestions. Don't go on a different tangent just because you can't give a valid response to what AnthonyC told you to do.

Not so fast, glimmer! I mentioned this is one very rare occassion where I thought AnthonyC made sense And for the record, I dont listen to bachata that much but I understand that from time to time there are very good ones that are released and I do enjoy them. And yes, just because someone likes jazz, rock, or any other non-Latin musical genre does not necessarily mean that they are cultured.

Thanks for the pic compliment by the way!

What is wrong with Bachata?

Well it is extremely repetitive

And the the lyrics are just some wuss crying because some woman left him.
Whenever I hear Bachata all I can think of is.....Dude, Grow a pair!

Well my most Amadeus friend anthony.. blues is also repetitive and is also about crying for soem woman (quite frankly most gneres aof music are).. but blues happens tobe my my favorite musical form.... As always you only have comprehension for what has been bombarded into your skull and are not open to different forms of music... anyway, I bet most bachata and blues listeners have a bigger pair than you do ... obviuosly you are still in diapers.

Kindergarden homework: Look up 'Five long years' and tellme thats not a masterpiece.

Not all blues is about losing a woman. You should know that. Blues cover a full range of topics such as oppression, hard times, Sex and Humor.
Ever hear of Lead belly or Robert Johnson?

Also the musicianship of a Blues maestro is lightyears above any Bachata crier.

As for Music I am sure I have a much more eclectic taste.
I am a true Punk Rocker from the 70's I also enjoy everything from classical to Rock-a-Billy.
