RE: Promoters need to bring heavy metal bands to DR
i never thought the day would come when i would agree with anthonyc on anything (except in motorsports). but he has said three, yes three , things i agree with. firstly, dominicanfor whitewomen, how about following anthonyc's to-do list, and bring a few mega stars here. secondly, bachata is repetitive, and very limited in creativity.(unless there is a large body of work with which i am unfamiliar). and yes, there is no parallel with the blues in terms of artistry; there is no quintessential bachata musician to compare to a blues artist such as Robert Cray, for example. oh God; people are going to string me up now..

dreads,

here we go again.

I just cant believe people would compare blues to bachata. It leaves you to question the depth of peoples artistic knowledge and experience. Dont see how people just cant hear the repetitive riffs and lyrics of Bachata. Its so obvious. 5-6 bars of Blues has more complexity than a whole bachata composition.

But I'll stop before I am barraged with net stones.

Dread, I was actually afraid to mention that I agreed with him, glad to know we're on the same boat. You're right about bachata there are very few ( and I mean few) bachata artists that are melodic and innovative with their sound. I can only think of Juan Luis Guerra, Victor Victor, and Aventura right off the top of my head.

My precious little pumpkin, its good to hear from you even if it's to abuse me with a few stones upside my head. But it I am not surprise, as you were the first on my list of whom I expected to get the first piedrazos.

Gem, my precious little pumpkin, Agree with who? With me? With ladronaso?

NAAHH! no lo creo!

Hell must be freezing over! It's going to snow in Santo Domingo, Bush is going to declare he had it all wrong! Rush is going to apologize to Obama for his comments, and all Dominican politicians will commit to stopping the corruption and they will do it.

Ha ha ha very funny . Actually ladronaso, I was referring to dread and I both agreeing with anthonyc, which is surprising in itself, but the guy actually made sense for once ( ). Believe it or not, I actually agree with you more often than you think. In regards, to the Blues vs. Bachata argument, I agree with you (there, I said it!) but wanted to point out the few bachata artists that in my opinion are exemplary.
