That is an accurate analysis of Chacka's insuperable talent, yumnuk. She didn't or doesn't have a wide vocal range like a Mariah, or Whitney, but, she has been steadily belting out one melodious note, after another since I first noticed her with Rufus back in 1974; That' a track record of 37 harmonious years by my estimation, Bro.

How many of us remember when Rufus hit the scene and they hit it with a Bang! For a long time I thought Rufus was Chaka Khan's husband - CRICKETS!!!


However, it doesn't matter what I thought, I quickly was corrected by my uncles that Rufus was the band and Chaka was the Lead Singer. Rufus had a string of top ten hits on the American R&B charts and toured the world.

With the Iconic Chaka Khan on vocals and occasionally on Drums, Rufus was knocking the door down for other up and coming bands. And who could forget the erotic album cover with the big sexy lips- AMAZING!
