Dominicans In Soccer
Its always been a mystery to me as why the sport of soccer never got popular in Dominican Republic and baseball did. If you think about it soccer would be a ideal for a poor nation like ours because you don't need much to play it just a ball and a field with some nets unlike baseball that you need so much equipment which cost a lot of money. I think they made a mistake in not trying to develop and make soccer a top sport in this country first of all baseball is not even a very popular sport its just played in a few countries of the Caribbean, United States, Japan, China, Venezuela unlike soccer that is played and adored in the whole world Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, Middle East.

RE: Dominicans In Soccer
actually, Dominican ( i will just call you that for economy of keystrokes), you do not even need a net for soccer at the village and learning levels. two rocks, placed the correct distance apart, will do just fine. i think that the american presence in the DR has something to do with the introduction of the game here, though historians attribute it to cuban refugees. strangely, the three islands which are great at baseball, DR, PR, and Cuba, have very limited acceptance of soccer.
