Drifting pics of Sunday 20th, Feria Ganadera
Hi!,

Here you have a few pictures of a drifting and car autoshow that took place in la Feria Ganadera, Malecón, Santo Domingo. I went to take pictures and was impressed by the quantity of customized cars and also by some of the drivers!

Anyways, here are the pics, enjoy!

This took place last sunday (April 20th). This was the 6th time they do this particular event, so It's probably in a few months they will repeat it.

Also, this sunday they are reopening the "Las Americas Speedway", now called "Autódromo Mobil 1". Suposedly they did some mantainance and remodelation to improve the track. Hopefully they will resume the racing and events they did there in the past soon!

Those cars looked great! For some reason the name "Las Americas Speedway" reminds me of NASCAR, lol. I found a link to an auto & bike show that took place in Port-au-Prince as well:http://www.pbase.com/kesler/champ_de_mars

Haykick.... thanks for the link! Very interesting, specially the one of the last pictures of that bus.

I didn't know they did this kind of shows in Haiti.

With pleasure DaniDR. The auto show seems to have happened a while ago although I don't know the specifics of the show so I can't tell you for sure whether it is an annual event or a one-time occurrence. The multi-colored bus I can assure you is a tap-tap or the local form of transportation in Haiti. I've always had an appreciation for autoshows and motorbike extravaganzas anyhow, lol.

One thing I notice about both the D.R. and Haiti events...

No barriers to protect spectators. That's a tragedy waiting to happen. Any of those vehicles could spin out of control or an experienced driver could lose control of it.

So why as a new young generation of Dominicans and Haitians cannot use this forum, medium to do fundraisers and advocate for peace and better relations for both Nations? Wow, those are great stuffs, folks!!!

Hey Haykickyouinthechin, why have you not post this site to the other forums to guys like Rubirosa, Muchacho and so forth? This mean can unify mountains between the two countries. How come both young Haitians and Dominicans in the Diasporas around the world never talk about starting better Organizations to improve the current conditions of both Nations? This could be quite lucrative benefits that be be contributed to the growth and the two Countries' economy and social reconciliations. WOW!!!
