Hard to follow for me without ordering additional packages for TV, but I can't wait to get back to an event it's been too long. Maybe Montreal GP next year. I was at Melbourne 2006 .... wild sport, puts our auto racing to shame.

Good luck in Montreal. That event has been dropped from the F1 Calendar. Last word is they are going to replace it with a NASCAR race. Yeeehaw

Ouch. Is there anything in North America at this point?

Nope.
2 groups are working on a holding a US event. Hopefully for next year.

What can I say anthonyC I'm a grown man who never ever has to drive between cabs and subways I do know when I went to that F-1 race it left my jaw hanging though. Not sure what was more impressive, the speed or the braking ability on RAINY track. You don't have to be a car buff to be amazed by these machines.

That is one of the reasons I hated living in New York. I like my cars. I like Driving. I like racing. The other reasons are bad weather and ugly women.

Oh and the fishing sucks

Can't speak for the fishing, as for the women you must have been looking in the wrong places.

I remember reading a rumor in the papers of NASCAR in Staten Island is that still in the cards? I'll admit I would go once just to check it out.

Manhattanite, i see where you do have an interest in auto racing. good for you. sadly, you came along after the glory days of sound as part of the spectacle. you missed the majesty of Weber sidedraught carburettors on club style racers. but worst of all, you are too young to have heard the likes of the Brambilla Gorilla, Vittorio Brambilla, driving the Alfa Romeo v12 in the rain, in the early morning warmup, at the GLEN. that is a sound that lives with the hearer, forever.
