That is so true, I am not saying all Puerto Ricans, so slow down. No worries, my best friend who is female is Puerto Rican, and she knows about this guy in my past, and understands me; I am just saying from experience, do not let anyone from any culture put your culture down, and take it. I just had the experience with a Puerto Rican guy who did this to me. Thank you for your comment. I wish you and your girl the best. Does she enjoy our Dominican culture? Did you read all of my post though, word for word? I am curious?

RE: Reasons why Dominican women are so beautiful...
mirabal4ever I just read when you said
Quote:

my girl absolutely loves my culture but more importantly she loves me and i think thats the difference between her and the man you were with. did he really love you? forget the culture!!!

Of course !My husband fell in love with me for who I am in every way, inside and outside for life (meaning forever even when we get to be old and gray in the so many many many years to come.)
and I did with him too, and is not only our intense passion for one another, but true deep love that for example my parents have, whom have been married for many years. I will not state how many in the public forum, but so many years of marriage, and their love is always true; just like my husband and I; go through together through thick and thin. I had written it in my past post I think page 26 on this forum topic. I have pasted it below. Thank you for welcoming me to www.DominicanToday.com

I am married to a man who is of European background, and considered a white man, and he agrees in justice and respect also like I do among all humans and races, and that we are one in the same. He enjoys our Dominican culture and he has a huge heart and soul, and brains too, and more, is why I fell in love with him, especially when I saw he respected our Dominican culture and admired it as well. He also fell in love with me because we are pretty much similar in mind and heart, but also have our differences in our tastes, which spice up our pure everlasting love. I also respect his culture and admire his culture too. I enjoy learning about many other cultures around the world. He really enjoys the way I cook healthy, and nutritious like my grandmother and mother taught me; he really likes Dominican food.

I also enjoy cooking many other international dishes.

top dominicana you are the reason why dominican women are sooooo beautiful! an this is coming from a white dominican like me who loves his women!!!!

Mirabal4ever, you are not White.

Most Dominicans cant discern between white/anglo , mxed and fair skinned. They believe that just because they are lighter than most of the Dominican Population and specifically have straight hair they will be considered white by whites. White/anglo Dominicans are few and between. Mixed of predominating European descent are many just as mulato. There is no fine line, its quite simple people.

you dont read anything that i say and you just come toassumptions. first of all i never felt to ever be accepted as white to caucasions. if a white dosent consider me white i dont give a damn because my white is of no comparison as to what means to be white in an anglo sense. hello wake up everybody!!!

First of all I do read some of your statements. My decision to answer is strictly based on content. Second, what assumptions? I made simple statements. Read again, No assumptions. The assumptions have been made by you. In several occasions you have alluded or emphasized your whiteness I imagine its simply because by "Dominican Standards" you can exploit that assumption. I was just clarifying that by U.S or European standards you fall short. Based on your pic you probably would be considered Mexican central American or mestizo or as some would say just another brown skin. Dominicans have a propensity to always emphasize the issue of their whiteness not realizing that their interpretation of white is relative and not real.
Why wont Dominican Republic prosper?

Because Dominicans are just plain to Stupid

may I ask is the interpretation of US or Europeans any less relative or more real?

I don't know what's the history (if there's even any) behind those posts, but here's my 2 cents:

The whole 'white' label, as used to racially describe someone is a very subjective one.
The US has perhaps the most narrowly defined concept of whitness (no surprise there), I'm sure most here know that there were times when many European groups were not considered socially white in the US. Heck, to this day many so called 'off-whites' (Albanians, Sicilians, Turks, etc.) are viewed as a bit too 'ethnic looking' by your average mainstream American white.
In LatinAmerica, white is used to either describe a person's skin color or they use it to describe someone whos features are predominately European.

Dont know what page you're on but I'll explain it with no sugar coating, no pC. As previously stated Dominicans have a propensity to emphasize their whiteness. This is perhaps attributed to their understanding of white relative to their surroundings or fellow Dominicans. Most Dominicans either living or raised in the US have done so in predominately ethnically divers metropolitan areas. Having said the sheer amount of diversity will skew just about everyones interpretation of white. Unless though, you have lived or been raised in say the Midwest, North South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Utah, Colorado should I mention Mississippi, etc or lets just say and include Rural America.

For simplicity I will just say that these people have a different interpretation of white and would interpret most Hispanics who claim to be White, Not! Therefore our (Dominican) interpretation of white is relative and skewed. White relative to the preponderance of the "Dominican" population. Now I do take in consideration that demographics are continuously changing.

i am not at the mercy of what middle americas definition of whiteness is. relative an skewed may be but so what. you say that the americans have a different interpretation of white an i am well aware of that. good points though thanks for the info that i was already informed of. no sarcasm
