Goes both ways...

I joined this forum and the first thing I see is another male complainting about how he was treated by a woman.

The sexual exploitation of a female is in no ways the same as exploiting a man. I believe the poster is commenting about the sex industry in the D.R. and not about anything closely resembling what you are referring too.

Which brings me to this question, Have you ever been sexually exploited? If so you must have really enjoyed it because you placed three and I mean 3 happy faces to express your pleasure.

finally a dominican who recognizes her roots! "dominicansista"

I've been here for the past hour reading all these posts or comments, some resembling racist "hatemail" and they have to be in my opinion complete stupidity.

And yes, you are right. I do know my roots and I am very proud of it. It's sad, but alot of others here know theirs as well, but choose to deny it as part of some sort of alternative agenda. Once that spurts hate and division. We are all God's children.

You are 100% correct my friend. Let me make my acquaintence. My name is ..... well let me send an email. We have alot to discuss about this forum. You need to tread the waters very lightly here, there are alot of sharks here. You can and will invite those sharks to your space by saying "you know you're roots and is proud of it". "SHUT YOUR MOUTH SISTA", you are in troubled waters with that comment.

I need to talk to you right away and this and some other matters that may be of interest to you. So wait one second here.

Hey Young Brother Brasil! Before you take your unhappiness out on DominicanSista, consider what I wrote above.. In case you can't find it, here it is again:

"Why would any man, feel that exploitation of any woman, including that of our mothers, as being acceptable? Or are you saying that exploitation is OK for mine, but not for yours? Any type of demeaning act against our mothers, sisters, daughters & nieces.. Or allowing such action against them by others, makes you no better than the tyrant oppressors of our ancestors. When I find women conforming to such ill treatment, I will do my best, to give them the respect, I feel is deserving to them. At least then, they will have hope, that respect & happiness does exist. Not to mention doing this, yields the same."
=============================================

So being the stand you obviously are taking, I must assume that you have a great wish to have disrespect placed on the female members of your family. Because I mean, if you wish it on Sista, you know in time, it will come back to you. So Sad My Brother! So Sad! Do you have that much dislike for yourself, that you take out your frustrations on women?

Don't you know that having heaven or hell while you are alive, is a choice you can make for yourself. I mean when's the last time you did anything good for anyone? While at the same time, you are making a concerted effort to screw your life away. As well as those you come in contact with. This is sad as hell. Because smiling and laughing is a good thing!

Take the word form a very happy African-American Brother. With an extensive Kwazulu-Nigerian-South Carolina background. And as I respect my mother and sister, I do the same for you and yours. Wake up before its to late..

SHUT UP AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!! I have done nothing to disrespect Dominicansista. The reason I wanted to talk to her in private was to determine whether she was a real poster and not some imposter.

We exchanged emails and I talked to her via web cam, she is indeed real. Thats all I was doing. Again MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!! ALSO, I am not Haitian and therefore NOT YOUR BROTHER!!!

Hey Brasil,
Considering your name Brasil, is that where you are from? The last country to free their slaves.. Where the Black folks were divided up in 8 groups from nearly white to Black? Your oppressor did it to you, so why are you angry with me? I mean are you respected as anyone's brother?

And whether you accept it or not, you are closer to being blacker than the ace of spade than me. So play the Spanish or Portuguese card if you care to. But the 'man' will still view you as one of the "THE BROTHERS!" Probably even before he does me..

The subject here is about respecting others, as you's wish them to respect you. Do you think telling a potential ally "Shut Up" is respectable. Blame it on the Brother (me) if you cared to. But I'm 62, and considering your mouth, I know that I can roll better than you.. Face up, lose your arrogance, and try a bit of tenderness.. Before its to late..

RE: The Sexual Exploitation of woman in the Dominican Republic
Good counsel. This current generation has few examples to follow.

1 Corinthians 13
Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

The above is from the Apostle Paul, the first man to teach that men and women are equal in Christ!

What the world knows (and Hollywood shows) is LUST not love and lust destoys both the one doing the exploiting, and the one on the other end, regardless of male or female.

RE: The Sexual Exploitation of woman in the Dominican Republic
I think that the people there is in a bad situation. I have been there to see what goes on there a couple of times. I have experienced the lifestyle there. The woman there wants a better life so some sell themselves short. The beauty of all the people there is amazing and they want a better life. So that how I see it coming from someone who has an ex-girlfriend there.

you obviosly do not have much understanding of the dominican culture for you to make the statement that denial of roots in the dominican culture is some sort of agenda. you dint even specify what it is thats being denied. every dominican knows their roots whether they want to acknowledge it or not. alot of what you see as far as the mail is concerned are angry dominicans that are reacting as a result of the trolls that are just trying to get under their skin in stereotyping the dominican nationality. brasil is top of the line in that category of stereotyping dominicans by refering to us as viagra taking domino playing presidente drinking womanizers along with a puta infested island. we get so caught up in roots that we really miss the big picture and that is the culture that we have been blessed with on our beautiful island. i believe that dominicans have their issues along with every nationality that exists on this planet. i truly believe though that your heart is in the right place but it takes a little bit of understanding the big picture.

Well I think we need to start by defining what is exploitation. If she's an adult and works in a specific not-so-decent industry voluntarily, is she really being exploited? There has been a lot of talk about women being exploited in rap videos but then they openly admit that they do it to gain exposure in the media industry, this to me is not exploitation. It's the same situation in DR.

IT WOULD TAKE A DUMB DOMINICAN FEMALE, OBVIOUSLTHE VICTIM OF EXPLOITATION HERSELF TO MAKE A STUPID COMMENT LIKE THIS. BE A CHAMPION OF A CAUSE, NOT A COWARD!!!!

Hola my beautiful Dominican sister, thought you forgot us here on dominicantoday. Glad to see you are back. thanks for the compliment. Your comments as usual are the source of much respect from me. Also there is more than one stupid person (ie. mirabal4ever), you have a whole forum full of them. They all have one thing in common. THEY ARE DOMINICAN MEN. JEALOUS, LAZY, DOMINICAN MEN.

They have the nerve to make negative comments about people who are Clergy, pastors or others who are in their country trying to make a different in the lives of hundreds of their fellow dominican brothers and sisters. I do'nt understand some of these losers. I am happy to know that not all dominicans are like this, there are some very strong dominican women who I have a great deal of respect for. You are one of them. And yes bebe, I will call you later. again thanks.
