I agree. Music is all about taste, and no doubt the guy had talent, but his music/lyrics are liteweight, which explains the appeal and why it is called "pop" and not "soul" or R & B. Compare MJ lyirics to that of Moody Blues, or Pink Floyd and such and Yu will know what I mean.

taste: how many people like music from India, or China, or Italian Opera, or North American Indian music (if it can even be called music, that repetative noise) ....some do but the appeal is limited.

RE: Michael Jackson dies after heart attack
antonioj, notice how Will the Shill is at pains to compare MJ only with white folks. he was not a great songwriter;VAN MORRISON is. and, the BEETLES (I suspect he meant BEATLES, or, it could also be some tralier park band from the tundra) never had to pay off anyone, and now, if you want lyrics, you have to listen to the MOODY BLUES. you see, we all know that black folks can't write music; thems is only good at shuckin and jivin.

If he dares to say anything against Hendrix or the inmortal Bob, I swear that I'll get violent.

fear not, Mr Lautaro. in his next posting, he might just give us a list of 20 of his family members who can play better guitar than Hendrix

Hey Dummmy Dreadsy, SOUL and R & B is not white music - just though I would let you know, it is mostly black folks. So you are again so very wrong, as always, and not even able to grasp what I wrote I compared MJ to those types of music! But hey, MJ did really try hard to be white and it killed him!

Will, you probably right and the evidence seem to be pointing to the constant bleaching of his skin and the surgeries may have taken a toll on him

by the way would call Rock n Roll a black or white music ??? just a thought

The legendry John Mayer loved Indian music as I do. The influence was heavy in his Indo-Jazz Fusions for example.

German singspeil is better than Italian opera although both enjoyable. Besides the cocktails at the Munich Opera are very superior!

R & R has its roots in the Black community, in fact most great music has, from Soul, to Jazz, To Rock and Roll, to R & B. I think most R & R greats would readlily admit to having really got started by listeing and being influenced by the greats in the above genre.

Van Morisson, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Alro Guthrie just a few examples. Then you add the influence of negro-spirituals and you have the real roots of all of these types of music.
I just love watching B.B. King perform! He is part of the foundation! And of course Ray Charles...Motown etc. (where MJ got started)
