Dominican Republic can’t ignore its 1 million Haitians, Kerry Kennedy says
First and foremost I am not Haitian

Santo Domingo.- The president of the Robert Kennedy Center for Human Rights yesterday said it’s an “error” to ignore the around one million Haitians who live in the Dominican Republic, and recommended monitoring and making transparent the process to regularize those undocumented immigrants.

Kerry Kennedy suggested that the country guarantee that the laws aren’t applied retroactively in the civil registry, with children of Haitian descendants born in Dominican territory. She also recommended work in the bateyes to help the Haitian immigrants who live in poverty.

Kennedy, in a press conference yesterday, said her delegation appreciates the Dominican government’s response on the problem of Haitian immigrants because every official with whom she met yesterday showed an interest to work with her institution.

However the human rights activist noted that she didn’t come to impose a solution to the Haitian immigration problem, because in her view the Dominican Republic can solve it. She said it’s an “error” to ignore the around one million Haitians who live in the country.

The Senator Kerry Kennedy has they Audacity to tell Dominicans to absurd one million Haitians. Because that is what she wants to look good with in her public standing.
Hypocritical when the state of Florida is trying to deport 30,000 Haitians to a country where there is no security. Where slavery still exist, the united states help remove there last elected president, training Jean-Bertrand Aristide foes with in Dominican territory.
