you know I was always one to stay outside of the Haiti/immigration threads. with bigots like Gizmo around they are always a few steps over the line into the world of idiocy. but I have to say Perod was unquestionably a Dominican intellect. and we do not gain by his absence.

a wall? from a distance personally I think it is a backwards, stone age idea. Perod often displayed sentiments close to racism but at least his idea for border defense was an actual political idea and not a questionable wall which would be as well maintained as the roads are in DR. I never liked that he was monomaniacal about his one topic but he was certainly better than a lot of the intruso trash running around the forum.

he is banned and alot of the dissagrements concerning the wall were between micaela and generoso. prod dint agree with it. as far as racist we cant judge as many do on here. only prod and God know the truth on that

Yes, he was banned.....yes, I think he should come back.....and yes, I think Gizmo, among a few others, is a bigot.

My first time at the border some time ago, I was disgusted that we could even continue, as Dominicans, to talk about such an invasion (see: "immigration) issue with such a gaping wound to further thrust the knife. It's not just the illegal trash, but the ropers of the trash and those who profit. Obviously this mantra has been well versed, but the problem remains.

A wall is but a static object, but dammit it's a start.

Toro it may be but personally, as an outsider who looked at posts from both sides, I simply don't believe it. hardly a week goes by where I don't see articles on this site about our crap electrical grid or our roads. I cannot believe in a wall being any more well kept.

who knows if generoso is right and PeRod's motives aree just more construction contracts. but Perod would have those with a wall or without. DEVELOPMENT of the region would tie it permanently and surely to our breast.

He was banned and rightfully so. His political idea was not worth the comments it received. But I blew him and the rest of you Dominicans who supported it out of the thread. Rebutted him so bad, that he resulted to all out threats against me and my family.

I hear he's actively searching the D.R. for me as I write. Sent me a hosts of PMs for my location. I told him I've posted my name (Daniel Pires) in my earliers posts and my address in others. And still I have'nt heard from him or any other "girlie man" for that matter. Althought he may have trouble getting into this gated community that I live in.

m4e agree about the truth. I have stood up when I saw Laut called a racist and some others because I agree we can hardly judge by what is said on here in the heat of arguments whether a person is a true bigot. except for Gizmo, that guy is unquestionably an incorrigible prejudiced small man.

Thus why I opined that it was "a start". So much more thought goes into this than a physical barrier. Like you said development is huge, as suggested in "moving the capital" though I don't know if that's the push needed. Governmental cronies are another step to overcome (the grid and other services). A militarized border is another component.
