I have stood up when I saw Laut called a racist and some others because I agree we can hardly judge by what is said on here in the heat of arguments whether a person is a true bigot. except for Gizmo, that guy is unquestionably an incorrigible prejudiced small man. When a bigot like Gizmo is cheered and celebrated here by some........it makes me think those "cheerleaders" are also bigots. When I read people calling Gizmo basically a "hero" for the way he acts here, I have no other choice but to think those calling him that, are just like him, bigots. So much more thought goes into this than a physical barrier. Like you said development is huge, as suggested in "moving the capital" though I don't know if that's the push needed. Governmental cronies are another step to overcome (the grid and other services). A militarized border is another component. I must have skimmed right over any talk of PeRod's business involvement. Toro no fault in that, it is hard o do anything other than skim those nutty Haitian threads. a wall would be a good start, but knowing politicians they would take it to be the end and leave it at that .... no maintenance, no support, nothing. seems to me that developing and populating towns is the only way to ensure the continuity of our culture and language on that piece of land. even if it attracts more Haitians as long as they leave French and creole behind as the cities fill up with our own it would be an undeniable barrier. |

I agree Tup and those who did cheerlead his gorilla bullshit quickly lost esteem in my eyes. that includes PeRod and some still around. but there is the issue of timing and context, and the undeniable fact that on this forum we are under constant attack for being Dominican-centric. just like I told the accuser of Lautaro being racist, in these conditions ppl are forced to make bombacious statements (or affiliations) that put them close to the line. so some members get a few more strikes before I put them toally in that bucket. Gizmo himself was way over the line though, am glad we all seem to feel this way. |
