All this is great, but you need to sell it all, which is impossible....there are more unfinished projects here in DR than finished...and finished are mostly empty.....because prices are way out of line.
secondly, they are destroying the beauty of this island I live on...thirdly,none of this money gets to the average dominican, just the pockets of a few....and a few crooks...

and never never buy property here in DR until built and people living there...never...

Dude, why would a business group invest in unfinished proyects? How are they destroying the beauty of the island?

These proyects will simply add on to the beauty the DR already has! And why are you saying that the avearge Dominican won't get the money? If they work yes they will, but if they DO NOT work then obviously NO!

RE: Boom in Dominican Republic
you do not realize that the average dominican earns about 2500 dollars a year....yes I said a year...6000 pesos a mont,h,,minimum wage is 3500 pesos a month, average policeman makes about 4000 pesos a month...
now,how in gods name can they purchase anything in the tourist area or new building in the cities...
the average dominican will still live in the barrios and the hills of saman as they have for many many years,as the buildings go up,and remain mainly empty of dominicans...I have a small dominican house in saman and I can say that Las Terrenas has gone from a beautiful, small fishing village with lots of beauty to a dirty, dusty, over built noisy place, and the dominicans have nothing to show for it but high prices everywhere, food is at least 40 or 50% higher than the capital....and lots of unfinished projects,,and houses
lots of money being laundered thru this country....and Russian money around also..and none to the locals...

How about in the US? How many people do you think can afford a house in Long Island, NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, or even Beverly Hills? Only rich people!!!! People who CAN afford the place.

Same principle with this case here.

big difference is the average american could possible buy a house of some kind...here it is block, wood and a tin roof...no water,no inside bathrooms, some with no elec...but very very happy....
so all the over built stuff here is not only ruining the beautiful beaches, but not helping the dominican at all..

Well, have you been to the DR lately? I guess not, so you are the one that is not in the reality. Have you seen the boom lately? I guess not! Pessimistic and out-dated people like yourself need to escape their old fairy tales!
