First, I am a member of Jephthah Lodge #89 in NYC and am a 3rd degree brother and have been so for the last 6 years. However, I am pursuing possible opportunities in DR and might be a possibility that I will move here in the future. With that said, I am extremely interested in learning more info about this lodge and how i can become a member. I guess the most important question would be if I can still be a member of my lodge in the US while still holding a membership in another jurisdiction? I love my brothers back home and would not want to demit but this might be something that I need to do if I decide to move. Also, is this chartered by the Grand Lodge of England? By the way, are lodges in DR structured like some in the US? in the US, specifically NYC, we have lodges that cater to the individual brother's specialty. For example, if a brother is a civil service worker we have a lodge that is mainly made up of brothers from that vocation. If a brother is a lawyer we have lodges that are mainly for lawyers and so on. Thanks and regards. Jephthah #89 MWPHGLNY Edited on 9/14/2009 12:59 PM by dominica. |
