I'll not go as far as to say that racism per se exists in haiti. i did say that some retarded might still cling to the idea of superiority based on skin color, and that nobody in hati buys that anymore. i also stated that mulattoes are in minority. isn't mulatto a product of two races ? mostly black and white. if hispanolo has a different definition , i would welcome it. by the way hispano, don't tell me it is the first time that you've heard " a poor mulatto is black, a rich black is a mulatto". it is not that i condone it, but if you go back to history u'll realize why mulattoes in haiti, in jamaica and the other islands are faring better than blacks. this situation is a legacy of the colonists. remember that during the american occupation we had a string of mulatto presidents. this was not happenstance. moreover, the idea of blaming mulattoes for all our woes is a scapegoat. black intelligentsia and mulattoes have been slaughtering the country since independence. the fathers of the country have failed to forge a mentality for the future generations. we are not a nation yet; if the word is defined as a group of people sharing a geographical area and with the same aspirations. i agree with you when u mention our problems shouldn't be confined to haitian-dominican issues. they are larger than that. i just chipped in because i have fun in your exchanges on the net; carlos,, arcatype, carbell etc.. i admire cool heads like cibaeno, lautaro, hyacintho etc... by the way, i believe that the fabric of the haitian society has been ripped. we can't even talk of class. Oh you did not offend me. I did not say you offend me. I said your analysis was a great one, remember? Oh no, please do continue... I agreed with most of what you said, if not all, kind of. Some news some of us Dominicans & Haitians may find rejoice in: Wilgeens Rosenberg "That Dominican-Haitian-Jewish Kid" HispanolanoYoSoy Wilgeens.Rosenberg@gmail.com |

Anna, Not offended at all and it is a breath of fresh air to dialogue with someone that doesn't allow themselves to get into name calling and bashing. Mulattos are a minority in Haiti but aren't walking on egg shells because of fear of the majority black. This thing is so so complicated and goes back during colonisation. Hispaniola, I disagree with your mentality..we must get rid of house negro mentality..that's a hatred built by the field niggers that are acting on vengeance due to their misery in the hot sun. I dont know the solution but your radical ideas ain't flocking..i think it boils down to economics..dispersing to the majority..it's all about opportunity..racism will exist due to us humans always will find something. Heck, were we to look for a person that fit the definition of that word, we'll have to look in his direction hands down. I´m still looking for the reason behind his quarrel with Shin.
