NOT OBAMA... the guy will probably fall to outside pressure and be quick to believe all those allegations about the Haitians that DR usually gets... Come on lets not kid our ourselves. If you look at past trend, I think a republican administration will be more favorable to DR, however this time around the Democrats have a good shot of making it to the white house. The democrats with their powerfull black caucus appear to be more receptive to Haitians plight. |

Quote: gouletcolonial previously said: Unfortunately the Democrat party could run Kermit the frog and probably win this time as someone on this blog once said..... That would be me I think Obama and the Dems are better for DR. Madman McCain comes from a family of imperial crusaders, and he personally wants more military adventurism, which would hurt the US economy. DR's small economy is dependent on US. Even if they accomplish nothing else, if Obama can end the military adventures it would improve the domestic US economy...thus DR as well. All boats can rise with the tide. BTW I am sure you all know who McCain's father was right??? Quote: McCain’s father headed up the military’s Pacific command from 1968 to 1972, convincing President Nixon to illegally attack Cambodia and famously ordering the bombing of Hanoi even though he knew his son was still imprisoned there. He also led the controversial 1965 invasion of the Dominican Republic, which he defended by saying, “People may not love you for being strong when you have to be, but they respect you for it and learn to behave themselves when you are.” http://www.reason.com/news/show/118937.html Eso pienzan los guerreros McCain de nosotros; monitos que deben aprender como comportarse. By the way they never deliver on the millions that they promised |

Cib this is why I had commented to goulet that the Democrats could run Kermit the frog against McCain and still win. McCain is a man who 30 or 40 years ago would have won the Presidency hands down for the same reasons I believe he will suffer a humiliating loss in 2008. His warrior way of seeing the world, his understanding of history really won't fly today. Back then the population all agreed with him that the ethical thing to do was to run around the world civilizing the monitos like Dominicans or South Asians...and hell, though it is controversial to say so, perhaps ( a big PERHAPS) that was the right thing back then. But today I think most people, and certainly the majority of our generation, understands that this mentality ends in more trouble than it intends to solve. Also the man cannot even use a computer...in 2008. I know there are many bigshot old executives like that in the world, but give me a break... Edited on 6/13/2008 2:03 PM by Manhattanite.
