Sadly, the video does not include the "phenotype" I see in my own family, nor is it a "phenotype" of the "real dominican". Instead I believe that www.latinaffairs.com displays thousands of photos of real dominicans. Most of them who are moreno or black.

Indeed where are all the morenos lving in Santo Dominigo, the largest city in the D.R. represented in this video? This is just ridiculous how obsessed some here in this form with skin color. The sad thing about it is that most dominicans are thrown in the same category with Afro-Americans when they arrive in the United States. Dream destination for all dominicans.

I just wish racism disappeared from the D.R., in my lifetime.

Black, White, Purple..in the end we are all human beings part of the short cycle of life.
Some people are obsessed over skin color.....this judging by skin color thing is getting really old and people need to catch up with the times. More people are mixing then ever, different cultures are combining to become one. DR shouldn't be obsessed with race so much.......no country should ever be obsessed with race. People need to move on from racism.......or at least elevate your-selves to prejudicism (not a real word) racism is the factor that drive countries backward and create division among the same group of people with the same culture.

Bah!. The only reason why racism is not natural is because different groups inhabiting the same space is not natural, either(hence the race wars/riots throughout history), two negatives make a positive just like in math. Think about it, there are divisions that need to be kept, and that is a right to every group. South Korea, Japan, Eastern Europe, China are about the most racialist places today and they are not exactly going backwards. Though Haiti, South Africa and Zimbabwe may apply to your sentence.Race is not just skin-deep.Man, you have been bombarded with multi-culti egalitarian propaganda since you remember, and since you know deep down that you are favored in that message, you buy into it quick. You really must see it from both sides of the fence as not everyone swallows those messages.
