RE: President Obama has had a month to listen to or ignore the American people.
my point ( other than getting sir williams panties in an uproar) is this. had he been homosexual, had he been a homosexual married to another man, had he been a homosexual believer in Christ, would than have made him a less great man?

Had he been, then yes it would have made him an utter hypocrite. As he was not the point is mute.
Why and how can we discuss 500 year old rumors.

My original point : William of Orange at great personal cost defended freedom or religion and helped bring freedom to the Metherlands and then the UK.

Wrongdoers eagerly listen to gossip; liars pay close attention to slander.

The part highlighted...in case uo missed it:
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
"During the 1690s rumours of William's homosexual inclinations grew and led to the publication of many satirical pamphlets"

So by your own admission (better yet the person who you cut and pasted on) their have always been rumors of William's purported sexuality! (notice I use the word purported several times when referring to this issue).

"but some modern historians doubt that there was a homosexual element about their relationship"

The key word in the excerpt from your cut and paste...SOME historians doubt that there was a homosexual" nature to William. I don't know what SOME means to Canadians but here in the USA it means "being a portion or an unspecified number or quantity of a whole or group". In other words, a PORTION of scholars agree that William was indeed not a homosexual. So Mr. Olmstead, based on your own post one can easily verify that it's not just four scholars that share the opinion that William of Orange might've been a homosexual. You're a piece of work...LOL

Obviously you prefer to beleive in rumors, I will stick with historic facts.

Question: how many of the rumors about Obama are true? There are thousands or rumors out there...all put out by his "enemies" so they cannot be true. Correct?

Agree and you have just killed your whole useless and weak argument

The part highlighted....historical rumors are ripples through history...they may or may not be true but the fact remains that their is extensive scholarly commentary on William's purported sexuality. One will be hard pressed to find such commentary on any number of historical figures. No rumors of Washington being a homosexual, or Napoleon or Charlemagne. But William of Orange? Definitely! As for rumors on the incumbent: He's a contemporary high-profile figure in a world saturated with media. No one that shares that with the president is safe from rumors, whether they be stars, politicans, or moguls. And I am in no position to verify or deny any rumors circling the president's person. But history will. Again, intellectual dishonesty on your behalf.

Sure there are numbers others - you should know that - so that tosses out your main point as so much basura.

The diff. is between rumors spread by his enemies (and as a lover of freedom he had many) and hostoric facts. I guess that is just too much for you to grasp. Your bias & pride is killing your ability to grow in the knowledge of truth .

Your inability to see that YOU DON'T have all the answers makes you look foolish in practically all our exchanges. But keep on thinking of yourself as a legend in your own mind.

Why not deal with the points I made - if you can - insults are cheap
