Glim are you a big Van Jones fan also ......Osama is recommending Jimmy Carters book also

and you are of those that believe Van Jones was a commie?????? I was upset at this admin that allowed Van jones to resign on those petty issues... I mean If Bush could stand up for Rummy after doing a below average job in Iraq, Van jones could have stayed put.....

I sure wish ou Savioour St Barrack, doenst keep heeding to those conservative losers that put their party first and nation second...... really, think about it.... their making such a big issue out of this acorn thing, that when the dust settles it will be minor and possibly end up hurting the GOP....

actually, Enrico, if you will remember, it was i who called Obama a bum way before the elections. he is not my boy, lest you think so. i said that he was a rank opportunist and sellout for the way he threw Rev Wright under the bus. i was particularly distressed, since, to this day, i agree with the preponderant majority of the issues Wright raised. and, people can call me a racist for agreeing that there are differences in the way races see and do things. as he mentioned, when i watch college football, and turn to a game involving teams from Idaho and places like wisconsin, i hear structured, stolid anthems being played by marching bands keeping rigid Teutonic timing. when i watch Southern, or Grambling, or Morgan State, i see a guy witha tuba kicking his heels above his head and bounding along joyfully. white folks look and wonder aloud"what the heck is he doing, and how does he do it?" that is a part of the thoughts of the Rev Wright, and nobody in their right minds can dispute it.

On the contrary, dread, I would call you an honest and honorable person, and if you allow it, to count you among my friends, cuz' a real friend will tell me the truth to my face, instead of telling me one thing and slitting a knife behind my back at the first opportunity, as Obama did with the reverend. I blame that betrayal of his on the political correctness pervading the american political landscape, where people are forced to play the part of hypocrites in order to gain votes with the establishment.

Lau:

Agreed.... He turned away from Rev W bcs it was politically correct to do so or at least the 'coaches' believed that to be true........ but let's give him a little credit please..... on the first time Wright came up to be an issue, Barry stood up for him and even called him an uncle..... then the second time I'm sure his advisors told him to steer away.... to hear teh REv say, that after Jan 21 he was still going to be Rev Wright regardless of outcome was masterful! I always thought that these ties would be renewed.... If Barry could have a beer wiht that cop and th eprofessor , he could be pals wiht the Rev, who by the way is supporting the Pres Healthcare plan !

I hope Barry gets a little more spine on these issues!

actually, Enrico, here is my take on that. it is not Kanye West's fault that such a debacle befell the wonderful abyss of television. it is the fault of America, and their penchant for hero worship. Kanye West is a guy who can sing and perform. his comfort level is in the recording studio, or on stage. but America believes that since he is an "artist", he surely must have sterling qualities of all kinds. so, they are horrified when a bum, and bumpkin, shows his TRUE colors to the world. the fact that he is loathsome, ill mannered, uncivilised, egotistical, and rough as a bear's ass comes as no surprise to me. i am sorry if America is so disappointed, but the question becomes "how many more athletes need to be outed for cheating, how many musicians for drug abuse, politicians for corruption, before people realise that maybe, just maybe, these guys would be just like other people if God had not smiled on them and given them outrageous talents?"

I can't help but cringe whenever I think how much the word "artist" have been devalued these days, dread. This is one of the reasons why I'm not feeling that bad abouth the fact that such greats as Marley, Hendrix or Lennon are no longer among us, cuz' I'm sure that they would have gotten mightily depressed about how things have turned out on that quarter.

brilliant observation, Mr Lautaro. nowadays, all you need is a "personna". days gone by, you had to have talent. and you were treated as a performer. nobody asked John Lennon, or Bob, or Jimi, to be the master of ceremonies of anything. they had special people for that. now, any cretin can make some half assed song, get some airplay, and, next thing you know is that they want him or her to run for governor!
