Stand-up for your Dominican democracy
As we know lately since the law free access to public information was signed into a law many of us inside and outside the country have been able to discover many scandals of corruption, nepotism and just out wrong stuff that our senators get away with. As many of you know Nuria Piera and Alicia Ortega as many more like Huchi lora (El Loro) have been able to put ligth on corruption and have forced some state offices to behave in a better manner in the handling of state money. Well my fellow Dominicans that single sight of relief is being treatem by already 2 senators that are willing to go back into the dark days where everything was behind closed doors where the general public had not access to the wrong doing. I would like for all those who believe we can improve Dominican Republic way of living and improve the lives of the land that made you who you are today. It has taken 100s of years for all of us to enjoy and improve the motherland and we can't allow corrupted and evil minded officials to move us back when it has taken us so much work to get this far. There are 2 senators that are trying very hard to keep corruption and nepotism alive to their own benefit. I would like to ask of all you Dominicans and those who care for this land to stand up for Dominican society and send a strong message to this corrupted officials that we know what they are trying to do by shutting down the free access to information.

First Corrupted official:

thank you belly for this eloquent thread and for providing us with these crooks information. She will hear from me.

after this aritcle below against crisostomo where many of his own party members opposed his idiotic crooked legislation i though the issue was dead. But aparently they are teasing with us to see where we let them go.

RE: Stand-up for your Dominican democracy
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Revisory Assembly last night voted to exclude the phrase “truthful information” in the new Constitution as the Deputy Pelegrín Castillo the proposed, noting that that it limits the free exercise of the media and journalists, and approved the guarantee of free enterprise.

In a second roll call the assembly’s 124 members of the different political parties voted against the Castillo’s proposal, after which article 50, numeral one of the constitutional reform bill will now state: “All persons have the right to information. This right includes to seek, investigate, receive and divulge information of all types, of governmental function, by any means, channel or route, in adherence to what the Constitution and the law determine.”

Only 38 of the Assembly’s members voted to maintain the questioned phrase, 27 of them from the ruling PLD party and its allies.

Free enterprise

The Assembly also accepted the National Business Council’s (Conep) observations and approved article 51 in the reform bill on Free Enterprise, which recognizes and guarantees the freedom of commerce and industry, and will not allow monopolies “except in benefit of the State.”

DT

This is a great day for Dominican democracy and freedom of speech.
Every body in DR should be feeling like this today.
