Often I hear comments, "Bahia de las Aguilas is the best in DR", "You really have to go to Salto del Limon", "Go to Las Terrenas, it's definately the most beautifull in the DR".

So, what places do you like the most in the DR and why?

I'm gonna have to vote for Las Terrenas and Bahía de las Aguilas. The first one because it has a very nice mix of miles and miles of beach, and also because you can still get a nice hotel room, have a great selection of restaurants and a lot of amenities. Bahía de las Aguilas, oh that one is easy, it's like being in the beach at the year 5,000 BC, complete nature and no intervention of man kind has degraded that place.

You sold me, I want to go to Bahia.

Las Terrenas is a beautiful place with many people who are .....well French...which makes it interesting, they are a friendly Expat community there.

If you are in Las Terrenas, try to resist the temptation to ride your motor cycle at night.
I worked the ER at the hospital a few times, and people tend to max out their fun meter
at the local bars then get on their mopeds and ram one another at high speeds on the
narrow main drag. Drinking and zooming around on motorcycles or mopeds don't mix.

Try Campo, DR just a few miles from Santo Domingo... You will be shocked that you are near the Capital and it is very peaceful and beautiful local respectful girls, not prostitutes. Just good stay home with family girls. The best thing is it is very affordable to live there to think it is a Diaspora town.

I like Bayahibe very much! Samana is also very beautiful.

To me la reserva cientifica de valle nuevo is the best place of DR.... it is haven on earth

Where exactly is that located? Do you happen to have any pictures?

It is located in la cordillera central (La Vega) but it is spread all over the cibao region ( bonao, moca)etc... it is a large extension of forest... Here are some pictures... if you like mountains and rivers..... this is the place to go.

That is by or around the vicinity of La vega, DR very picturesque place. Anyway, how could you have mentioned that it was the best place in Dr and a heaven on earth? How do you know if you have never been, have you heard about it from people? Yes, it is a nice place and if you are into hiking the mountains you will be just in the right place for that as well.

There is desert in DR right? Does anyone have images of this? I know to some a desert may be the opposite of best place in DR, but it will give interesting contrast to these images...
