Like that kid who had a police radio antenna stuck up his rectum by some jerkoff city cops. No one initially believed him. Only Sharpton rallied to his cause. Leter, a cop who was covering his fellow officers came out and told the truth, which was also corroborated by physical evidence that officers tried to cover up. CHEN JAMES BARRON DAVID W. CHEN Published: October 23, 2009 Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg looked like he couldn’t get wait to get out of Howard Beach, Queens, soon enough. Former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani couldn’t stop grinning from ear to ear. That was how it went Sunday, when the two men who have ruled New York City for the last 16 years marched side by side in the Howard Beach Columbus Day Parade. The conditions were hardly ideal: It was raining. It was a windy and biting 46 degrees. And the big Giants-Saints football game was about to start. No wonder only a sprinkling of residents showed up along the eight-block route along Cross Bay Boulevard, giving the odd impression of a parade that had more participants (including members of the New York Police Department’s marching band) than spectators. Mr. Bloomberg, glum-faced, did not look happy for most of the route. But with Election Day just around the corner, he had little choice but to make an appearance in a heavily Italian community that he hopes to win resoundingly en route to a third term. And by the time he made it to a stage — which was covered, mercifully — he managed to look, literally, at the bright side: “When you have a wedding and it rains, on the day of the wedding, it’s supposed to be good luck, and I think this is good luck for this community,” he said. “Sorry about the rain; there’s always next year, and we’ll all be back.” As for Mr. Giuliani, who was wearing a Yankees (what else?) baseball cap, his reaction was more like, What rain? “I am very, very happy to be here in Howard Beach on this beautiful day to celebrate Columbus and to celebrate the community — a wonderful community that I always felt a great deal of fondness and closeness to. al capo di tutti capi de los trolls |

Cib: I can understand where you can characterize him as an opportunist , but throughout his career he has stood up for the working man regardless of race. i think you judge him too harshly, he isnt all that bad. He certainly is more of a merit than Rev Al, although Al has improved alot over the years. |

The city was just as shi**y if not more under Koch. Not saying Dinkins was a good mayor because he wasn't, he's just been unfairly made an example of, and most conveniently overlook that crime started to decrease towards the end of the Dinkins Admin. Blutarsky although you are fond of Guilliani many in NYC and upstate are not, and Bloomberg made a monumental political mistake having him speak on his behalf. Although I don't think it will matter as Bloomberg will buy his way to victory. Edited on 10/24/2009 2:24 PM by Chico81. |
