Caribbean islands benefit from 'PetroCaribe'
The Dominican Republic joined Petrocaribe in September 2005.

It is a country that relies entirely on oil imports, and oil fuels everything from vehicles to the island's uncertain electricity supply.

Lucia Newman reports from the Dominican Republic, on how it needs all the help it can get from an alliance like Petrocaribe.

You fools. It only gives the illusion of cheaper fuels when actually they are still very expensive. Thus, increasing this country's dependence on fossil fuels and Hugo the nutty professor of socialism. Wake-up, he is engineering a social takeover of your country.
